Have you had any near death experiences?

Outside of a car accident, I have never had a near death experience, whick is obviously a good thing. What about you, have you had a brush with the grim reaper himself?

Last summer my baby daughter was born at home. I had trouble delivering the placenta. It came out with much difficulty and pain with four blood clots. I began to bleed really heavily. In all I am told I lost around two and a half liters of blood. My blood pressure went dangerously low. I kept fainting. I felt ever so weak and dizzy. Only one midwife had been there for the birth but afterwards several midwifes came round. I was taken away in an ambulance to a hospital in the city. I was put in a room in the high dependency unit. I had medical staff coming to see me every 15 minutes. A consultant came along and told me that I was probably going to die. This made me cry my eyes out and for a long term I couldn't stop shaking. I think that my body was in a terrible way and it was trying to shut down. Every time I moved I felt faint and when I sat up I felt worse. It was days before I could walk to the bathroom without fainting. I traveled around in a wheelchair. Now I am not as strong as I used to be. That experience took a lot out of me. My daughter is now 8 months old.
