According to the BBC News site, the number of young people admitted to a&e with self inflicted injuries is up by nearly 50% ands one in ten young people admit to self harm.
What do you think is the reason for this rise? are you a cutter? do esit help you or do you regret it? what are you feelings about it?

The reasons a person cuts can vary. Sometimes it is a way to relieve stress, to bring out pain (They feel so emotionally numb they look to physical pain to heal it), or to attract attention. I was a cutter for awhile back in middle school, and it's one of the things that I'm ashamed of. It's a self-destructive and addictive behavior that can send you into a downward spiral. I don't know why there's a rise. To be honest, when I left high school I was appalled at the number of kids who admitted to cutting and actually seemed proud of it. It was almost like it had become a fad.
