Ok ladies and gents I'm going on a 1600 mile trek with my son by truck, I need some ideas of what to do to entertain a tyke for a 24 hour drive,
so far I have a dvd player for his watching entertainment, I have his toy laptop, crayons and a book to color on, as well as books for me to read to him and a couple of his fave toys, now I'm pretty sure that it might not be enough for a 2 year old to kepe his attention adn not want out more and more, so any advice can help, I'm sure we will have periods where we will be going out of the truck to stretch our legs,
so anything would be helpful :)

1600 miles in 24 hours!! I once did 1100 miles in 24 hours and that was with three drivers sharing and I thought that was tough!! Do you have to do it in a day?
Somewhere secure and comfortable to sleep for the little man would be a top priority I would think and then lots of stops to exercise.
I don't envy you your trip. That is a looooong way! Good luck!

well we made sure that we got a hotel so we made it in two and a half days :) we did get out and exercise quiet a bit, I knew that would have to happen, he wasn't so bad till the end when the straps on his seat was hurting him.

Make sure you got enough food, water and milk for your kid. Doggy bag should be in hand if in case he'll feel bad during the trip.
You can bring books of animals and landscapes, and if you see these on the road you point those to him and you can check out the book after. Don't forget your camera so when you stretch your legs you can take photos, and so as the beautiful scenes that you may see on the road.
Bring the fave pillow of your kid too so that he would feel even more comfortable in the car.
