why do we need CELLFONE?

I do share your concern! The more means we have the lesser communications it seems to be going on. Everybody has a cell phone maybe two, but it seems that we are less disposed to hear others. We are busy concerned with our daily life and we have so little time for others. Life is fast, we are always in a hurry. WE are living in an instant society.

This is so true. I do believe that cellphones make our lives easier in a lot of different ways. But at the same time people (including myself) have lost their integrity because of this technology. Just like what you mentioned about becoming prompt and showing up in the agreed time and place. It is very true that having this technology kind of gives us a chance or an excuse to show up late and stuff. Hahah but I still think it has made our lives so much easier lol

It's kinda funny that I was just responding to a discussion about cellphones - the convenience and the importance of it to our daily lives. I too belong to the same generation of black and white TV, music from 45's, the "baby boomer" generation. Today's generation is a far cry from what we have been used to when we were teenagers. When we courted girls on trembling voices and knees, today kids get to woo their girlfriends by just text messages; when we used to walk a mile to our favorite pizza parlor, today we can have our pizza delivered to our doorstep by just texting our orders; when we used to place our sales orders by mail or telegraph, today we can have it posted through text messages. Thus, when we talk of convenience, these technological marvels known as mobile/cell phones have come in handy. Your concerns or problem with cell phones could probably be just your unit or the telecom system. However, there are lots to choose from as to brands or telecom companies. If you're using prepaid phones, just see to it that you have enough load to make a call or text.

Cellphones are easier to get ahold of one another. When Im not at home people could still get ahold of me on my cellphone. Also when you are not wanting to talk cellphones are like a letter, its called text messageing, this makes it so if you do not feel like talking on the phone you could text message someone and they get it a min after you text it, so it is so much faster then a letter and so much better, faster replies.
