What is your symbol of youth?

There is this old guy at work who still is fond of dishing out stories about his youth. He tells whoever wants to listen about his many adventures many years ago. He sports an earring on one of his ear which he calls his symbol of youth. He did this again earlier today.
This reminded me of a conversation which I had with another office mate. She said she wears her skinny jeans every casual Friday. And this is her own symbol of youth.
Made me wonder if I had my own symbol. And then I remembered my 1/32nd model cars that I keep in a box in my parents house. There is a part of my youth that I keep in that box.
How about you? Do you have any symbols of youth? Do you wear it proudly like the earring or the skinny jeans? Or are you like me who keeps it in a box somewhere?

In my youth it was New wave rock an roll! I still have my cassette, yes cassette, tapes filled with the music I loved and still love. The latest music craze is my symbol of youth . and what is great about it is that you don't have to be young to enjoy it!

Are you talking about the 80's new wave rock and roll? I must admit that I like that craze too. It was just because most of the significant things in my life happened during that decade.
I have a lot of those songs in the ipod, and you're right! That could also be a symbol of my youth. Although older than my model cars.
Thanks Sarah!

Like Sarah I think mine is in my music..Nickelback is my favorite band and I tend to load the ipod with music that most would mistake for my sons'. I guess I would have to say having my hair highlighted on a regular basis is a way of hanging on to my youth as well, but since my hair started turning white when I was a teenager I don't really count it.

Hi J. I wonder if it's really you that liked the band at first. Or were you influenced by your sons? In any case, I don't think music has no age limit, if listening to the latest ones makes you young so be it. I just hope listening to 80's song myself doesn't make me old.
Goodluck with the flames tonight!

My symbol of youth is my sense of humor. I wear it 24/7. :-)

I'm still in my 20s, so maybe I am not that far away from my youth. :-p However, I can say that my symbol of youth can be seen from my fashion sense. I still like to wear dresses and trendy clothes, or to match the classics with the latest accessories. Unlike other people my age (who tends to dress casual and emphasize that they are GETTING OLD), I like being all dressed up when I come to work. I like looking sharp and modern. I want to stand out, not fade in the background. I guess this is the symbol of my youth: keeping up with style and feeling good about it. :-)

Just being in your 20's, I also think that you don't need any symbol of youth. You should let how you look be your own symbol. Specially if you dress as sharp as you described.
I think responsibilities take away that symbolism from youth. Cherish your 'single and free' days now. And make it last as long as you can.

hi! i don't know what actually is my symbol of youth, because I really have never try to be or better say to look young, because I am only 21 and I think I am really still young :) I also have an earring like the man on the photo, but I have it from many years, and when I have putted it, i haven't minded that I want to look young :) I've putted because wanted to look fashion :)

I die my hair brown (it's half gray). I guess you could say that is a symbol of my youth. And I have some clothes in my closet (that probably don't fit) that I wore 20/30 years ago. I guess that could be like your keeping it in a box somewhere.

Hello hofferp. Thanks for the response.
I'm also starting to have a lot of gray on my head. Although I haven't started dyeing, I can forsee it in my near future. And that'll be my new symbol of youth.
Also, I have a couple of shirts in my closet which I wore back in university. When I feel like it, I still wear them.
