This is possibly the worst part for me about having a dog. I love him to death, but when it comes time to express him, it's smells EXTREMELY bad! I hear that if I don't get rid of the liquids, he might get some kind of infection in that gland area, so I know I must do it. People have said to get it done at the vet, and that's probably the thing I'm gonna do during our next trip to the vet. Anyone else experience expressing their dog? how was it? hahah

Hi there!
I think you should bring your vet asap, I think your dog god bad infected ears, it will become worst especially when your dog try to scratch his nail to his ear. I hear its not very comfort for dog. I don't know what is expressing my dog?

Expressing your dog is basically releasing a fluid that builds up over time in your dog's anal gland. Your dog's feces is supposed to squeeze the fluid out naturally, but sometimes the dog's feces isn't hard enough to get the job done. If too much fluid builds up over time, you could risk the gland becoming impacted or an infection to occur. Expressing isn't necessarily hard, but the fluid smells really bad. Hope that answers your question!
