As much as possible, I'd still go for someone who shares the same traits and interests as I do. However, whenever I think well about it, sometimes, it would be best to go for someone who has traits that are opposite as mine. Imagine me getting impulsive in buying most of the time, I would need someone who is more financially in control and more financially responsible. I'd rather want us to argue most of the time about it rather than finding myself splurging my hard-earned money for some useless stuff that I might buy if no one would be stopping me. Lol. Sometimes, a person who's you're opposite may compliment some of your traits to be a better person. It's really a matter of adjustment, compromise and sacrifices in the end.

I agree with you Honey, for me it's better to have a partner that is opposite as mine. What's your weakest link will be his strengths. If that so, you'll be helping each other to be a better a person. I like that idea. Thanks Honey.. It's been a while I'm not opening this site.. It's good to be back.:)

I think it's good to be different though. Telepathy works anyway when two people love each other and think.
If not similar, does not add ... so true proverb. It is equally true that opposites attract, but the attraction to the same vision about life or anything else, it's a long way, and on pracurs, almost always arise in discussions contradictory reactions to various disputes, or sooner or later show that it is not enough attraction.

I think I'm on the opposite attracts side. My husband and I don't share the same likes. He likes light colored object while on my end I love the dark colored ones, eventually black is my favorite color. He is very soft spoken, gentle and very careful in every decision that he has to make while I am aggressive and so impulsive. But we have one thing in common; I believe we share the same taste when it comes to food, that's why we gain weight so easily. LOL!

I would say that only "Like attracts like". Only the common interests in both can keep the relation long. People might tempt or get impressed with the different attitudes or behavior at the starting. But it really takes conscious effort to keep such relations. The best example for this is myself :)

The girl I was with before was too different from me, so we ended up fighting all the time. We were total opposites and always wanted things the other way. We would often have to compromise or give in to the other person's wishes. I would much rather be with someone who is similar to me so we can enjoy doing things that we like together and I think that there would be less fighting. If we want to try something knew it'd be a knew experience together.
The benefit of being someone who is the opposite of you is that you get a whole new perspective and it can at least be educational. =)

I think most important think to be freind of someone or talk with someone is how you take him/her. How you behave with her /him. and how he/she like to be with you. I think likes attract like in common. but there are chances that differences attract also. So I think the person is most important as you think about him/her.
