I got promotion

Dear All,
i should be happy right, effective per April 1, 2010 i will be a senior finance and admin in one of our group's business unit.
but i have lost my confindence, since i never been supervise many people. i only have been involved in small groups. i only had two subordinate before. next will be more than 20.
i had experience in finance, but i never been exposed to administration job.
what do you suggest to me to improve myself so i can catch up the new job.

Congratulation to you, being promoted in your company. I am also an ex-staff from the Admin and Accounts department, supervising a group of juniors. Being promoted as a senior member of the department is great. Because you don't have to work all those small lots of troublesome works anymore. All those jobs will be handle by your juniors, according to their business requirement. All you have to do is, supervise their jobs and always make sure they complete print-out and passed to you the info that you need to complete your stage of job. Admin job is not that difficult as what you thought, as long you know how the business runs. Because different company may needs different sets of administration works. In case you don't really know, you better request your job function from your senior. I am sure he/she is more happy to guide you then let you in the confusion.

yes you are right myfb2009, being promoted to senior, i will have some advantage to order subordinate to do some work and supervise them. but the scope of work for me is too broad, from finance and accouting untill the security of the plant, external relation is my responsibility as well. wish i can do all well.

that's the good things myfb2009. thx for support.
well, i am not only assigned to the admin and account, i have to prepare financial report monthly and yearly, manage people, recruitment, asset guarding of the plant, security personnel and etc.
taxes, external relation bla bla..
well that's too much. but i am a little bit happy inside. since it will make me tougher and ready to another higher level.

Thx Adhyz82, i will handle finance and accounting which are my background, as well as security, transportation, external relation, human resources, even though small site but i still think it's too much for me. well i should positively think that it will be my good training ground to be a manager and upper level.
