My latest Blog

I spend a lot of time crafting, teaching crafting, and writing about crafting so I decided to start a new blog devoted to what else? Crafting! So far I have two entries, one on knitting and one on crochet. I decided to monetize it and I just finished setting up all the affiliate stuff. It's kind of exciting even though I don't really expect much at this point. I have no doubt I will post to this one the most often (I now have three with two more planned in the near future). When I first started the other two I didn't spend very much time on them but for 2010 I am trying to post to each of them at least once per month. So myLot users, who out there has a blog? Do you do it for fun or profit?

I haven't tried the blog, but hopefully some point in this year I will. If I do, it will probably be for money and not for fun. Writing is my fun.

Oh cool. Hope it works out for you. I don't have the time right now and it looks like it is going to get worse.

You do realize you only have to post about once per month, right?

You really need to get started. I had my Amazon Affiliate application approved the other day so now if I recommend a book on crochet or something they sell and set up a link and someone buys the product I get a commission.

Hi C, It's nice to know that your blog is for profit. is this the one that i browsed? you made it friend. i know you will have more views in your blog and earn more from there. i have a blog but i am not as patient as you in terms of doing what i have to do in there. i have a blog for my crochet that my husband started but i was not able to update it. i think i need to take this seriously and finalize my crochet blog.

It is not that different from making a discussion in myLot. Just take a photo of something you have made and talk about the experience of what it was like creating it and you will have a blog post. It doesn't have to be long and you can do it once per month if you want.

I don't blog, per se, I do craft. In fact, I finished one of the bags I started a couple of weeks ago, I would've finished both, but I broke the needle on my sewing machine. Of course, I have needles, but I have NO idea where they are, so I had to go to the store to get some more - picked up some bobbins too. So, I'm set to finish my other bag - I'll have to get the roomie to snap a shot of one so you guys can see it!

Yeah, I am still waiting to see that shirt with the cross stitch! I just bought really fat knitting needles today and a size S crochet hook, some ribbon on sale and a couple plastic canvas sheets. I wanted a hairpin loom but they didn't have any.

I have a blog but i dont think of any monetary advantage from it. I use it to list some of my blogs on squidoo though (only one at the moment) otherwise its just for fun i dont even have a great viewrship with it . But if yuor stuff is really good then yuo could certainly make profit with it an a huge one too. i guess it might take some time but if you use some kind of affiliate marketing to prom, ote your product you might get dood results.

I just signed up with Amazon Affiliates. I still have to figure out how to get a counter to monitor the traffic.

Wow, congrats to you. Keep it up & good luck with your crafting and blogging, that sounds cool. I do have blogs, but right now I focused on my new site and then others are writing & submitting articles. My blog right now is isn't that narrowed, it has kind of numbered categories, but I think it's nicer if you narrow it, so that you can focus more to that main topic like yours, it's all about crafting. I might make another one next time that will focus on a very main topic in which I can't think what it is this this time. I do blogging both as a hobby and earning.

Two of the the three I have now are narrowed and I have considered changing the scope of the third and narrowing it because it is so broad I never get the posts done before something else happens. (It's local interest.)
