A few questions about this band?

I was wondering what genre is this band...Because it sounds like folk , goth,rock and just a bit of metal in it ..and it just confuses me.. What genre is it?
The lead singer look a little old[ brings about rolling stones lead singer]..is this a old band?
How well known is this band?

Hinder are a band that have caught my ear for sure. Looking forward to their third album "All American Nightmare", should be released around 7th or 8th of December 2010. Their two previous albums have been on fairly heavy rotation on my CD players and are called "Extreme Behavior" and "Take It To The Limit". Both albums have more than a nod of influence to Nickelback, but with the spirit of 80s hard rock thrown into the mix. Think bands like AC/DC in places and that sort of thing.
They tend to be known for their ballad "Lips Of An Angel", but have a whole set of catchy and commercially friendly songs.
Categorizing this band is subjective, but I like to think of them as a hard rock band with their eyes firmly looking at chart-friendly style rock music on some of their songs. (For example, "Lips Of An Angel" or "Without You").
