Do you think the Avatar is the biggest hit of all times, besides it has turned out to be the greatest grosser of all times yet very few oscars and other awards?

ho,ho,ho :) No, i don't think it is the best movie of all times- I haven't even watched it yet, bu I am pretty sure that it isn't better than "the lord of the rings"- the trilogy!

It honestly wasnt all that great of a movie. I mean, I guess it was an okay film for what it was and its animation and all that but I dont think it deserves the title of biggest hit of all time. It was a bit like a repeat of many other movies that have hit our tv screens and I wasnt as impressed as I had hoped I would be. Howver, I would still like to send out my koodoos and props to the movie and all its participants via cyberspace because it was decent and worth a second watch.

Thought it would be a hit winner like Titanic before.. maybe this round, the panel of judges were looking for some other kinds of criteria. It was quite unexpected by some, I suppose.. thinking that Avatar will win lots.

I thought Avatar would have taken all the awards hands down.

In my opinion, the technology used to make the movie is what sold the movie along with a very interesting storyline. But otherwise, there was nothing really great about the movie for it to win many oscars.

Well in my own opinion the story lack in some points. I havent seen the hurt locker so i cant say if its a better movie or not. I didnt find avatar so interesting. I like the visual part(effects were really amazing), but that is not everything in a movie and doesnt necesarily means its a good movie(though it helps).

I don't understand the Avatar hype to be honest. Was it a good movie, with good storyline? yes. But, it was far from something I am urged to watch again. I am glad so many like it, but I just am not into it.

Of course, it is the biggest hit. the first great movie - both storyline and effects, that is because it is so good for our time... maybe after 50 years it will be dumb, but now - the greatest movie of all times...till now :)

Avatar was a hit because it is a milestone for 3D movies. it defined the future. it became the highes grosser of all time because it was creative and innovative. though the question here is that the value of money today is not the same compared to its value 10 to 20 years ago. but i think they have recalculated it considering the fluctuation of money over the years and it turned out that Avatar is indeed the highest grossing movie of all time.
