Do you match furniture color,curtain to your home(wall) colour?

Oh yes, it does indeed look very pretty when the sofa covers, the cushions and the curtains are all colour coordinated with the walls. But I find it quite expensive too LOL…I mean if each room has its own colour (like in my house) then, imagine how many sets of curtains I have to buy! And of course you must have spare sets too…so all in all, I’ll be spending quite a sum on buying curtains! So I’ve settled for the next best and I have curtains which are neutral in colour to all the rooms…i.e. I’ve selected a colour and pattern which would go will with all the other wall colours.

I usually try to pick the furniture that has color similar to the color of the walls in my room. I can't stand the huge differences between colors, so I try to pick furniture that doesn't differ much from the surroundings. However, it's not always possible, because sometimes I just can't find the right piece of furniture in that color that I need.

Yes, i like to make sure that all the colours match. It would look awfull if something just doesn't look well, with two colours screaming at each other. TATA.

I like to decor of my own home. Yes i like to match curtain with furniture and wall color. Curtain selection also depend with our age , direction of the room and window,and weather. not only wall color.

no i am not. but my wife is the one who usually control or decides when it comes to things such as curtains. and she loves green colors. so most of our things in the house is color green, like the table (plastic), chairs, electric fan.

yes that is a good thing to ask, we need to just look the way we want and match what color we want to our own house..

I now have a fairly large house where I can afford to throw colours that may not quite blend but because of the size they don't clash with each other. When I had a smaller place there I was quite particular and just about two shades contrasting with each other would be selected. My walls never gave any problem as they would be invariably white. Here too my walls are white.

I can give some suggestions for matching your furniture. Let's say you have a good idea of your main color scheme. You've collected samples of carpet, paint, fabrics etc, Put them all together in the room where you intend using them, on a table, or paste them onto a board. Now stand back and look at them through half shut eyes. When thinking about the colors for your room, paint them onto pieces of paper or card in the same proportions as you'll see them when the room is finished. For example, if the walls havethe largest surface area, paint a large piece of paper in the color you intend using on the walls. Then estimate how much in proportion the couch and chairs will take. Twenty five per cent? So paint a piece of paper in the couch color roughly one quarter the size of the one used for the wall color. And so on. Again, place all the bits of paper together, along with samples of fabric, tiles, etc. and look at them in different lighting conditions. That way, you'll be able to gauge if you have the color balance right for your room. Having done this exercise, you may well decide your wall color is too bright and needs to be toned down. Or the couch color is much too weak for the amount that will be seen, and it nees to be intensified.

i love my walls white. they somehow make the rooms look bigger. they easily match the curtains as well as the furniture although i do not decorate them myself.

I love to decorate & design my home, and I go for old fashioned style, I bought antique-like furniture, figurines, porcelains that suits to my desired motif at home. I used floral as my curtain motif, and wall paints in dark colors...I don't know if I have matched the color of my furniture and curtains to the color of my walls, but I give emphasis to the furniture, their proper placements at home, that will meet my concept of an old-fashioned house. Most of the color of my wood furniture are natural, you can see its natural art on the wood itself, then I used floral to curtains and throw pillows. I live in a modern world but I'm fascinated to the old fashioned style.

hello cloud. in decorating my home i prefer to have its own accent when it comes to decors. i mean it should not be a mixed western, asian or mid east(mine is mid east, lots of bronze works) so as not to confuse people on what your up to. furnitures not necessarily matching in color but in contrast, yin and yang, like an auto finnished master clock on ivory wall, blood red wooden sofa on light brown marble tile with light gray curtain on the background. and yap, curtains are tailor fitted on the type of the window (fixed or sliding). my wall color is beige, so curtain colors should be a little darker to express itself. taking also into account not to overcrowd with furnitures as it may look like a jungle. simple, elegant, sophisticated or antiques depending on your accent.the color of the house gives the relaxing environment. the lighting gives it the brilliance. care should also be taken in lighting locations, not just anywhere. happy myLotting!

I love decorating my home. I love matching furnitures to curtains and walls, it looks better than not matching it. I like matching things in our house, my mother likes that too.

For me,it's "yes". I always match my curtains with my furnitures and my house paint color. Not actually of the same color,maybe a bit color variation from darker to lighter sort of,or,sometimes,a color combination. Besides,it is always good to know the right color combination when it comes to curtains,furniture and the house paint. Well,just my opinion dear

yes. i like it when my mom decorates our room and every things a match. not a sore in the eye. it is relaxing and its not a mess so to speak. i like how she matches the furnitures with the color of our wall and the curtains as well... not all people have the knack to be a good decorator.
