How much is money is enough to lead a good life?

A man who earns less than 100$ a month also survives, and so does one who earns more than 1000$ per month. Except the fact that the poor spend poorly, and the rich spend richly.
What is the need for more money, while you can survive with less. The increase in greed for money is the cause of price fixing, high salary expectation, less jobs and recession.
What do you feel?

Well, it depends on what you consider a good life? Some people can get a lot more value for a lot less. Some people need a lot more to even be remotely satisfied. Across the board, you will have differing arguments to this question, as many people will disagree. Some people will give answers that others will scoff at being barbarically low. Other people will give answers that others will think is greedy. I can only give my perspective on this manner.
I truly think a couple hundred dollars a week is more than enough. So roughly about 800 or so dollars a month. Granted, you have to be smart about what you spend and what you save, but trust me, as someone who knows, you can survive on that much money and maybe have a little extra to put back. In the long run, its not what you make, its what you save that is important.

i read somewhere something like 'earn money more than your wife can spend' i guess thats when money is enough LOL. sorry if i sound sexist but have to stress here.. i read it somewhere
fact - each person is different, some spend more than others and some is more responsible than others.
but what i do understand from that statement is that aim high. maybe the statement i said just now might not seem realistic but know ourselves, know our partner. then maybe it is easier to define what a 'good life' is

I think it also depends on the lifestyle of people who run it. If the poor have an extravagant lifestyle, how much money he has spent and will also be less

I agree that also it is really depends on the life style of people. if you know your income is enough for daily basis only or a little bit more, you need to try not spending money to the stuff that you dont really need, instead make a saving every time you get your pay check. but if your a wealthy person, you can get easily what you want, so no worries for spending!

well, for me I think 200 dollars a month would be enough and also what's important is to survive and eat everyday instead of overspending because of the economic situation of the world today it's so difficult.

For my family, we need US$2,000 because we need to pay a lot of loans.

I think it has something to do with collective reaction of people on money. If there is less production and there is a great need for it then the prices do go up and there goes why poeple will need for more moeny to afford their lifestyles and everything. I think it will depend on the person how much is enough for them. For some earnign money for the day is enough for them but many would want to have extra something for their pocket as an emergency fund once things like this happens in their life. It is important to keep a portion of your money for this things to ensure continued support for their loved ones.

I think that this is quite difficult to think about! We are all different and I guess we all want different things out of life. I guess if we think about some poor people, they can be happy even though they are poor as they have found something within themselves that makes them happy and they are not too bothered about having money. On the other side of the token you may have someone who has more money than they can handle and yet they remain unhappy and disastisfied with their life. I guess it can be difficult to strike the balance. I would certainly love to have more money in my life but having said this I am content with my lot in life! I don't have many possessions but the possessions that I do have I really treasure and I give thanks for them on a daily basis. Yes, we are going through a recession right now but I guess I carry out my two weekly budget on a regular basis and so I know where I stand financially to the penny! That's life. Andrew

The accumulation of wealth, which should be a means to the "good life," becomes an end in itself because it destroys many of the things that make life worth living. Beyond a certain point – which most of the world is still far from having reached – the accumulation of wealth offers only substitute pleasures for the real losses to human relations that it exacts. All progress is seen to be a frantic struggle towards an objective which you hope and pray will never be reached.

it depends to every person and on the way they budget their money, like if the one who earned 100 dollars leave in a slump area and eat only bread and water with only a fan then i guess they can survive, but for those person who live in a nice apartment, can eat whatever they want, they have car and a lot of electronics device then of course a thousand dollars might not even enough. so if the person knows that he only earned few then of course he will budget things out for them to survive. i still go to those who earned a thousand if i can live a decent place than be contented with what a hundred dollars man lifestyle.

I, being on the less fortunate side of the spectrum would have to say that the poor as whole, spend our money more wisely and can make it last longer. We are used to having a limited amount of money, and therefore can manage our money better than people who have more money to spend. I don't really think it's a matter of how much money you have, because no matter how much money you have, you'll never have enouph.
