I am watching Clark Rockefeller on Lifetime this evening and it is creeping me out alittle. (Go to www.mylifetime.com for more info on it. ) Do you think you could be dooped by some guy? Could he move in on your life and be your lover for a dozen years and then you find out he is a fraud? Could this happen to you? What safe guards have you established in your psche and in your life to avoid this?

I saw some movies and it stuck to me because I really like it very much. I dont know that movie that you were saying in your discussion because as you described it it sounds disturbing and I dont like those movies. Anyway, to answer your question about what movie stuck with me, I liked "The Ugly Truth" and "The Princess and the Frog". I liked those movies because they are really nice especially the love story that they have. My sister also liked it too so its kinda stuck to us.

I watched that movie last night. He took sinister to a whole new level. I would like to think that I would not be taken in by a con man, but this guy was not your average con man, he managed to pass himself off as a heart surgeon at one point! I felt sorry for his wife, to be such a powerful business woman on one hand and so gullible on the other must have been hard for her to reconcile within herself for a long time. I bet she does her investigations at the beginning of her relationships now. I really don't have safeguards in place but I do listen to my instincts and try to follow them.

Wasn't he something??!! There was another story, I think it was a book, about a guy that passed himself off as alot of different things and I wonder if this is the same one. Seems like he had a different name. Yes, his wife was gullible but why would such a thing enter your head? You just don't think such things are going to happen to you. We need to listen to our instincts. We don't as often as we should it would seem.

That's the kind I want to write. The ones that really kept the audience on the edge of their seat and stays in your mind after you have seen it.

The last movie I liked a lot was The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock. She won an Academy Award for this movie. I think it is one of the best made in the 2009 and Sandra really deserved the Oscar she won. The film is about a poor, oversized and under-educated teenager who is recruited by a major college football program whee he is groomed into an athletically anacademically successful NFL prospect. It tells the story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. At the same time, Oher's presence in the Touhys' lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own. Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. As a football player and student, Oher works hard and, with the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an All-American offensive left tackle. I really enjoyed it. I hope you have the time to see the movie and appreciate it.

I'd be totally freaked out if that happened to me. I would hope to be able to move on and trust again. It truly goes to show that you can never truly know another person. You just can't let bad people ruin your faith that the majority of people are good.

That is so true. It freaks me out though because you have to trust the other person and then to find this out- it must be devestating.

sadly for years through 4 previous marriages, i was not wise and careful. each time they were abusive and a bit crazy until finally i got wise and found a good one, the 5th one anyway, about the movie. i recently watched Precious, just out on video. boy was it sad and insightful. it made an impression.

I think that it could happen to any of us. I think that if the con was good enough..well..people can pull off a lot of stuff on the trusting. I am not so open with myself as I once was. I think that it has come with learning that there are a lot of people out there that are more than willing to take advantage of others and make it a game. I think that I protect myself by being private.

Hmm.The Fourth Kind? I haven't seen it. I think it said but I agree with you. Have to be private. I remember when I was younger I was so naive and just down right dumb. I look back on and laugh at some of the situations.
