I use Avast free edition which I've been using for a long time now. It's pretty good, but I find that it'll not find ALL malware, no antivirus will, so I also do additional scans with malware bytes, windows defender and yahoo anti spy to catch anything that's been missed.

i think that as regards the free edition avg is one of the best available even on 2010!!May be now avira is one of the security softwares that in this year have a great numbers of estimators around the net...so you can try this too if you have doubts about your avg free edition!!

AVG is pretty good. If you can afford a Mac, buy one because then you won't have to worry so much about viruses. There are some good deals for used ones on eBay. I found an ibook there for real cheap and then maxed out the ram and put a bigger hard drive in. I don't have to worry about viruses. On my desktop computer, which is an IBM, I have AVG and MalwareBytes but it doesn't matter because I can't get online with that computer. Something's wrong with the connectivity.

Hi Jayze, I really don't know the best anti virus, but I'm using Avira (the free one only). I'm using it for 3 or 4 years now I think and I still have my laptop running smoothly and I haven't reformatted it or anything :)
