Do you buy shoes because of the advertisements ?

If you see a commercial do you buy shoes because of it? Or the person endorsing them? Do you believe in what they say or do you investigate on your own? I have to buy a pair of cheer leading shoes for my little one ( they run like 70.00 to 100.00) for the brand her team wears but any white ones will do. That is a lot for indoor shoes only. I have investigated this shoe and basically they end up falling apart if you wear them outside. Great shoe HUH? She wants them and I say don't think so. What would you do?
