happiness or joyfulness

I'd rather be joyful living in this world that i know myself than filled with happiness that everytime in the morning I make sure deciding when to be happy or not.

yeah, me too.. life is to be grateful and enjoy every part of it and choose the happiness in every way for every situation we face in daily life :)

The words are synonymous. But I think for me, being happy is much deeper. For me, joyful is only superficial, the one you see on the person's expressions. Being happy is much more deeper. It's more of talking about feelings.
