What are some of the best cities to live in California ?

Me and my family have lived in Sacramento for about almost 20 years. Im really getting tired of it, and the particular neighborhood we live in seems to be getting a little dangerous. We arent super rich people. And I especially dont like it here because Ive already seen pretty much everything there is too see in this town and I really dont like it. Alot of the people are rude too. But its soo difficult because we have so many family member scattered around in this area. What is a nice place to live in California that isint too expensive for living and has a nice overall rating?
