I am absolutely in love with the Mariner's Star but it looks so difficult to piece. Who has done it & how hard was it? I'm curious how long it took for you to complete something that intricate.
I'd love to see one in blues & purples & pinks. It would be so fantastic, i think

I know what you mean. I bought a pattern and template set put together by a local quilt shop about a year ago and I am still too intimidated to start it. I guess I will have to buck up and just do it once the quilt I am working on is done... or the two others I have started...lol

Ah, welcome to the land of the UFO's
I just bought a new ruler called a shape cut... supposed to make diamonds etc really easy & fast but I've been very disciplined. Finish at least one of the ones I'm working on before starting another one.

Well I started a mother's tears quilt when I lost a baby almost 2 years ago, but I am known for making baby quilts for each baby that comes to the family and we have had a lot! I work on my quilt (completly hand sewn) in between baby blankets. Now we have an influx of babies coming (3 since January and 4 more including one of my own July) So I keep just starting and working on new baby quilts with no time to get back to my other quilt....ahhhh, at least it will always be there to work on. Usually I am pretty good at getting things done first or at least quickly but I am tired during this pregnancy and keep falling asleep while quilting at night...lol
