Mylot Best Response - Do you often scratch your head about the choices?

I don't mean to be greedy with Best Responses mark (well they don't in fact add up to our earnings whatsoever) but there are times when I notice that people somehow give out the best response to people they 'know' or are 'acquainted with'. There are responses that are really great but when you take a look at the response that was given the 'best response' mark, you'd definitely see that there's nothing special about the response and there were quite a few others who would have deserved the best response mark. What do you think? I know most don't really care at all, but what's your opinion about such?

I often do that! There are just so many good answers about the discussion we make and they are somewhat confusing because there are really lots of times when you wanted to mark 2 or 3 best response because they are all deserving. Sometimes I dont mark them anymore so I wont feel guilty of not marking the other best response.

You might be correct that some people give people they know the best Best Response mark. But I think many people here give the Best Response mark to people they think have given the best response. I've always wondered about the Best Response because I don't see it anywhere. I've gotten a Best Response from people I didn't know or have for friends yet. But since you said there are times when people seem to give the Best Response to people they know, that might be true. But then again, you usually agree most of the time with people you know anyway. That's how I got my friends here on myLot. I have yet to be Friended by someone who disagreed with me.

Hi, Laydee! There are a couple of things that leave the choice of BR a quandary. Sometimes, people make a choice before much better responses have come in. At other times, they put off a choice for a very long time, then rush to get caught up, paying less attention to the content than they really should...

In choosing a best response and on other stuff as well, I tend to be an objective person. Even if I like the person but there is another response that best answers the question, I would choose the one that makes more sense. In the first place, that's why it's called a best response and I stronlgy feel that the person with the best answer deserves it. On the other hand, there are discussions wherein one person gives really strong points on the subject while another person does the same too. It's really hard to choose at times like that. Or how about when a discussions gets some answers but they don't really answer the question clearly and are more of like speculations or typed in for the sake of making money.

haha.. before i actually started with mylot, i posted a question for a discussion in the internet,,,, several advices and opinions were given to me, but there was one response that touched me... it seemed like the response that i really wanted to hear... i guess the best response not necessarily mean that you expressed yourself in a creative way... the best response probably is the one that aligned together with the emotions of the one who started the discussion... have a nice day!

I am another one that do not think if my response is better than the other. Maybe because I only answer when the discussion really interests me, when I feel that what I have to say will helps clarify the argument or expand somebody's thoughts. That's what I believed was the purpose of everybody who joined MyLot, sharing knowlege and broadening minds.
