My Older Shoes

I like my older shoes the best. They had more style. Now a lot of the shoes have gone the way of clothing. Manufacturers design for the majority and the styles are flat and boring. You can not find shoes with chunky heels any more. The only way you can get good looking shoes is my paying a premium price. Of course, they usually don't go out of style and they don't wear out in a couple of weeks. Isn't that the way it goes, more money better wear.

I have many older shoes that i still wear, and they were great when purchased, but not necessarily expensive. It depends on how you search. There is always a bargain for things that will remain a classic after many years. Provided it's been well taken care of and stored in a shoe bag, and not just stuffed away in a corner of the closet, it can be revived.

I am not one to pay for anything full price. I am a clearance sale shopper. For instance, there was a pair of boots that I wanted at Kohl's. Very cute, and a style that is classic and so it won't go out of style. They are black ankle boots with just a little bit of a heel. I can't wear much of a heel because of my back problems. When I first started looking at them, they were $60. I just couldn't afford that. So, I put them back. I found another pair at a consignment shop that were a little different, and knee boots. I bought them for $15. Two weeks ago, my sister in law and I were in Kohl's and we took a run through the clearance aisle. There were my boots. Only one pair left, and in my size! Price? $5.99! I wore them to church on Sunday! So I have to say I disagree that it isn't always about how much you pay for them.
