Hello
Why do all romance novels books always describe the leading lady as tall and slender and where classy clothes it reminds of the Women magazines and Model Magazine where the average female feels she does not fit. Why can't they write romance novels for the avergage lady a little on the plump side findinf romance or someone who works two jobs and has kids and to find the man... the average man etc.
Thanks Unique16

I only read one novel till now. It was Olivia' Goldsmith's Bad Boy. The story was so fascinating I wonder how they haven't filmed it yet. You must find the time to look it up, I promise it'll worth it.

I am not much of a reader at all, but you are so right about the women in the novels as well as the movies. I must ask you quite honestly, when you dram of the "perfect man", is he ever a short, dumpy and sloppy guy? Tall, dark and handsome seems to be the standard issue fantasy man. So I guess when writing these novels, the writer is more or less putting a fantasy into words. I for one wouldn't mind seeing a movie where the leading lady is an average hard working woman, rather than some beauty queen and the leading man is an average Joe, perhaps short, dumpy and sloppy. How about a magazine featuring average everyday people? That might be a hit as well. After all, we are all people!
