I LOVE salt i seriously put salt on just about everything, chicken, rice, steak, burgers, salads, oranges, ice cream ( lol) i know, but you name it if i eat it im sure i have put salt on it at least once. I just love it. My husband is the best cook i know he makes these awesome sweet and sour steak tips, wonderfully perfectly medium rare, perfect taste perfect texture flavor is awesome, but regardless i still put salt on it, not to add to the falvor its just something that i do, its almost as if im addicted to salt! he gets offended so i take bites when hes not looking that i didnt add salt to or i add salt when hes not looking and then put the shaker away that way he just assumes i didnt add salt to his great cooking.

No, the only thing I add salt to is scrambled eggs when I am cooking them. Everything else already has enough and usually has too much.

This works fine for me. I like it when they taste salty. The rest of the food especially meat can be marinated already and meaning that it also had salt added up on it already or even MSG.

But too much salt is so bad for you! Adults should only eat a maximum of 6g of salt per day and that's just g of sodium. I don't add any salt to my food at all, not even during the cooking process. My husband likes to shake salt all over his meals, but I am trying to encourage my kids not to have extra salt too.

sorry.. that's 2.5g of sodium.

if you watch the cooking channel on TV you will notice that they always get their salt out of a bowl, and it looks like crystals. So I ask and told they use Koser Salt. I am now using it and it is suppose to be better than even the sea salt that there really isn't much difference in the sodium count as regular salt. I figure if it good enough for the best chefs it good for me.

Hi, beutfulmama6701. No, I don't constantky add salt to my food. I only add salt if my food needs it. And, I only add salt to my fruits. I usually will use lite salt and not the regular salt. If I am cooking chicken, I seasoned it all of the way and then once it is cooked, I don't put anymore salt on it. It is seasoned well enough. I never was the type to add salt a lot. I know that my mother-in-law told me that her son or daughter was like that. It is like they have to have salt on everything. Eating too much of salt is not all that good for a person. It can increase the risk of High Blood Pressure. Consuming too much of sodium is not good for the blood and the body.

I also seriously like salt. Right now, at this time of my life, I like salt too much and it is a craving I did not have earlier in my life. Everyone should taste food before salting it, but it becomes a habit to salt before tasting. Most good chefs believe they have served their food seasoned to perfection, so they may get insulted if one salts their food. I know I prefer my food saltier than most. Now, when I cook, I try to undersalt for those I'm serving and then add extra salt for myself. I do not salt most sweet foods, but always salt savory foods. I agree that it certainly can seem like an addiction, a word I do not like to use, but it certainly is a "flavor craving", to coin a euphemism.

I don't add salt to anything, to be honest. We don't even have salt in our house. We ran out, and it's never something I think of when I'm in the grocery store.

Seriously, you are building up problems for yourself in adding so much salt to your food. Excessive amounts of salt in the diet is a major contributory factor in the development of hypertension (chronically high blood pressure) in later life. This will put you at a much higher risk of stroke or heart attack by the time you reach your 40's - if not before. Yhis is a serious matter, you are putting your long term health at risk!

Hello, I don't add salt to every food. I try to eat as less salt as possible because it is not so healthy for you. I try to use more spices. Actually, I love better dish which has lots of spices not salt. There are so many spices and you can add garlic, onions that makes food taste better so you can live healthier and still eat tasty food!!! Good luck and happy mylotting!

I would not say that I put salt on everything, but I do use salt quite a bit. My sister was laughing at me just the other day because I cooked a corned beef brisket with veggies and I put salt on my potatoes that were cooked in that salty water from the corned beef.

I love puting salt in my food for taste however, I only use it as a flavouring while cooking. Salt is not vey good for the body because of its high sodium content and I think you are addicted puting it in ice cream, that is going too far try to reduce your intake of salt.

Yes, I have become so accustomed to the use of salt now that I don't think I could ever have a meal without it again! I think that it genuinely gives the food extra taste, without it the meal would be very plain. Lots of foods already contain salt but I'm not too bothered by this! I think that salt goes very well with boiled eggs and this is what I have every morning for breakfast. I also add extra salt when I am boiling some potatoes in the saucepan! A world without salt is not a world that I want to continue living in! Andrew

For me,salt is an essential condiment when I make cooking.I still remember the first time I cooked the fish.I am the only child in my famliy,so I never cooked before I leave home to look for a job in other city.I didn't know whether the salt is enough or how to cook.I just threw the fish in the boiler and then I ran away. You can image that the fish face.lol.
