how do you drive traffic into your blog?

how do you increase the number of readers into your blog? do you have a niche blog? actually, i don't. it's a mixture of many things, but recently it's turning out to be a blog about theater production reviews. but there's a lot more in there. it's at http://thejaggedbarn.blogspot.com. i am using tags. i made my friends aware of it. i have joined forums wherein i was able to generate a number of readers. however, i am wondering if i'm still missing something. how should one increase traffic to one's blog? thanks!
