Walmart is in the news again. This time for firing a man for testing positive on his drug test for marijuana. The man has sinus cancer and an inoperable brain tumor. He was percribed medical marijuana by his doctor to deal with his medical conditions. He claims he was NEVER high at work. But he did sprain his knee at work and part of the procedure when an employee is hurt at work is to drug test them. Of course he came up positive. It would come up positive even if he was just doing while at home, not at work. There is no way to tell as far as I know WHEN he did them. Walmart says they are "sympathic" to his situation. But fired him anyway. Loosing his benefits. He is now on unemployement. I can understand Walmart having a strong anti drug policy against their employees...especially at work. They could get hurt or hurt someone else. But do you think room needs to be made for someone who is on medication their doctor has them on to treat their condition? But then I guess it would be the same if your doctor put you on strong pain killers and you went to work and drove a fork lift and crashed it. YOu legally have the medication....but you don't need to be at work while you are taking it. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/03/17/wal-mart-sympathetic-man-fired-medical-marijuana-wont-rehire/ This is tough one. I feel bad for the guy who lost his job. But I also understand why walmart has the policy. What do you think? By the way....The Marijuana Policy Project is calling for a Walmart Boycott over this. Tell me what you think.

At first I wanna say,Walmart should keep the man no matter what happened. He work for you,he did everything he can to do the job.The policy is not personalization. The company's manager should consider the man's health. It was not his fault. And I feel sorry for that man.Hoping the company recruit him again.

Walmart is saying they won't hire him back. Which is sad. He has a medical condition...he is under doctors orders...they need to be flexible for employees like him.
