Do you think it is ever okay to read your childrens 'secret diaries'? Or have any of you my lotters actually read your kids private thoughts and how did you react to what you found out about you child? I look forward to your responses.

If a child or teenager is exhibiting worrying behavior, and you fear for their safety or mental well being, than I say read the diary. My parents never read my diary, but it would have benefited us all if they had read it.

I think reading it just because you want to be nosey is a huge no no. Reading it because you feel there may be something going on in your childs life that is seriously wrong, by this i mean possible abuse of any sort, then maybe checking isnt so bad. However going back to the 1st thing, if it is for you to just be nosey, is the chance of your child losing all trust and respect in you worth it? Would you like your child to read yours? Its a difficult situation really becuase only you would know how your child would react. Follow your own judgement. I have not read any of my sons diarys, however i did read my sisters. I was surprised because it was so normal where as she wasnt psychologically.
