What do you do when a stranger look at you several times?
I take underground railway and train everyday and sometimes, there are strangers who always look at me and it is very very emabarassing! And i try to ignore it and act like i don't see them.
What do you when this thing happen to you?
Do you look at them back and wait that they stop looking at you? Do you smile to them? Or do you ask why they are looking at you?

I think it will depend how a person looks at you. If you think that there is anything malicious in how a person looks at you, what I will do is leave. If it is otherwise and harmless, I will smile and try to be friends with them.

As a "starer" I am often admiring a persons physical beauty, or am enthralled by an article of clothing or jewelery that they are wearing.
With the first, I usually just hope for a smile. Smiles from strangers make my day. Especially when they are for lack of a simpler term cute. I even say hi occasionally and make small talk.
If it is the clothing or jewelery, I often compliment them or ask about that particular article.
As a "staree", I often just look them straight in the eye, acknowledge that I know they are staring at me, usually by smiling, or the nodding of my head, invite them non verbally to speak, and if they don't I wait for them to "lose" that is break eye contact first, then go about my day, like they are not even their.
When they do speak, I talk to them.
Used to be a lot different, but this way is better. I used to just completely ignore the world around me, and be lost in a book....imagine, not looking up from a book, all the way from your house, to the mall, to your work, and back home again, while riding the bus, and crossing busy streets, not the best way to live in the world.
Cheers, I appreciate you.

I tend to look away or at the floor because I don't want them to think I'm staring at them and being weird. I try not to look at anyone when I'm on the train and just look out the window which is sometimes hard on the train I get because it's one of the busiest trains and is always packed so that people are basically pushed to the doors.

We do the same thing. I really don't want to look at the passengers when I commute so that they won't look at me. I believe in the saying, Do not do to others what others don't want to do to you. LOL.I get stared at when I commute. It makes me conscious of my face. Does that mean I'm attractive?LOL

hell0!
well, if some stranger looks at me several times, I guess I will look at him/her too, and if it is a girl I will look at her and smile, but if it is a boy I will look at him with some serious face, just because I have met many times guys, who looked at me and when I looked at them they started making troubles! that's why I always look with serious faces!

Hi sushie,
It depends on what kind of stare they give me. Sometimes, people stare me maybe because I am reminded of someone they know, or it turned out we know each other. When someone stares at me in a judging way, or looking at me up and down (especially a jealous girl) I would stare at her back until she stops looking. Some would stare just to be friendly, and I would smile back. There are also times I got stared in an uncomfortable manner, usually I ignore those and pretend I don't see them.

Hi Sushie... I have not had a lot of experience of this, a little! I actually liked it when women and ladies and girls would look at me when I was 20-23... But I know it gets annoying after certain point...
Here is my suggestion! Behave as if, they're not there... don't look back at them. Don't pay attention at all.. Walk graciously and with pride! Remember how the kings and queens walk when they're in public.. And ignore those strangers... :) Have fun!

Hi. sushie93. I will look at them and smile. I will then continue to walk away from the strange stares of their eyes. I don't feel very comfortable with someone staring a hole in me. I like to know why they are so intrigued in staring at me so much for. It makes me want to be so inclined to ask them why they are staring at me so much for.

I get stared at alot. It doesn't bother me anymore. I just figure I'm the hottest person in the room.

I would tend to one of three things depending on the mood I am in and who is staring .If the person is staring at me for an extended period of time I would do the same and try to stare them down .If the stare is friendly ,I would probably smile but if it is agressive I would try to avoid eye contact but try to know where the person is at all times.

If any strangers start staring at us I get scared and start ignoring them and by mistake if I find them staring me again continuously I just stay back busy with my mobile just act as if am busy and move off....

I agree that there are different kinds of stares. There's the friendly and curious stare, the malicious stare, or a criticizing stare (looking at you from the head down to your feet). In all cases I just ignore them.

I hate that when it happens. I feel like there's something wrong with me. But if it happens, I just ignore it and if I get a chance to look in the mirror, I check my face to see if there's probably dirt on my face or something. I also chick my zipper or button if it's open or something.

I don’t usually do eye contact with strangers when they are looking. I try to glance at them but hardly stare at them. I think it is a rude thing to do. I usually focus my attention on the scenery.
I personally don’t want to be stared at. When people stare at you it’s either they find something good with you or there is something wrong with you. You seem to be under the lens of a microscope when people to that and it really makes you uncomfortable.

It depends on who is looking at me and how I am feeling that day. My kids both have a real problem with people looking at them. They both have self-esteem issues so that makes sense. I sometimes will smile back or give a weird look. It just really depends on who it is and what type of mood I am in.

If these people are too gorgeous to refuse myself from staring back, why not? I mean, it's a stare. Not unless of course if you feel like they are those who highly possess the aura of a criminal and other bad images of the society. But you know, there's a little awkwardness when you are being stared, but I want to maintain my stance of course. I don't wanna look like paranoid.
