which is the best server side scripting language PHP or ASP?

ASP is easy to know and easy for publish. PHP is open source and have strong life right now. If you like classical B's computer's language ,I recommend ASP. If you like classical C's computer's language ,I recommend PHP. I am good at ASP & PHP .It is my experience.

there is no good , bad or best between them. the major difference between these two is that php is free to use whereas asp is not. both are equally good.

I prefer PHP because it an Opensource software even though it is free doesn't mean it is not best but it is the best scripting language out there. In fact most of the servers on the net are running PHP. It is quite common nowadays that this is the widely used language. I don't like ASP the fact it's a commercial software.I don't think I can afford to purchase it.
