Need Some Advice About Internet Connection.

Hi, I need your advice on how to connect to internet using my pentium 4 pc. I have an old pc pentium 4 and when I try to connect the internet connection through RG45. There is no connection, and when I try to type ipconfig in cmd (command) there is no ip configuration. Then I try to reformat my pc in order to clean up all. But suddenly there's no use. I try to unplugged the internet connector cable in RG45 (old pc) and try to plug in my new pc. I has an internet connection. I don't know what to do anymore. If you have some advice. Don't hesitate to help. Thanks A lot.
