Did you hear about the awful racial slur at Turnersville, NJ, WalMart?

Good morning~ I heard this morning that some crazy person got on the intercom at the WalMart in Turnersville, NJ, and asked that all black people please leave the building! What is wrong with these people? I don't care if your skin is black, white, green or purple, this is just offensive and insane! On the news, they said that they didn't know yet whether this was an employee or just somebody that got a hold of the intercom speaker. And I'm wondering, how hard can it be to figure out who did something like this? This is WalMart! There were probably tons of people around! How hard could it be to figure out who did this? HELLO??? Unfortunately, someone said on the news this morning that the apology from WalMart was slow coming. WHY would that be? That was not a reporter who said that, so I'm not sure how accurate that is. But I would hope that an apology would be immediate. I certainly hope that if this happened to be an employee, his/her position would at the very least be terminated. There are decent people in NJ. So please don't let this taint in your mind all people from NJ...just had to add that! Have a great day, everyone! Hope it's gorgeous and sunny wherever you are as it is in New Jersey this morning!

Awful news!! I am sure it is some kind of fanatic and sick person who did it.. The wal mart management is evidently confused, because of the slow apology. It is not hard to find out who did it! I am sure the intercom is in a restricted area of that store and such areas are generally under surveillance of CCTV cams. If the video playback is checked, it'll be pretty simple to find out, who was at the intercom when this unfortunate incident took place.

Mr_Pearl, Thank you for your reply. I don't know for sure whether or not the apology was slow. I heard about the incident and the apology at the same time. I would hope it was not slow. At WalMart (not necessarily the Turnersville one--I don't go there), I don't think that the intercoms are always in restricted areas. (But please correct me if I'm wrong.) I could see how someone could get their hands on an intercom mic fairly easily. I'm also very curious to know WHY they're not saying on the news who did this. It probably has to do with some kind of legal matter. But I don't know what. If I were the manager of that WalMart, I would fire the person. It would be a simple matter. But maybe not...maybe there would be more official/legal action to take. But why would WalMart and/or the news hold out on telling us who did this? How would they benefit from not telling us? Or what would the risk be in telling us right away? It can't be that hard to figure out! As you said, even if there weren't people around (which, there probably were!), there are cameras, etc....... Thanks for letting me rant and rave! I just don't get it!

P.S. I agree that this was likely someone who was ill. If he/she is not clinically mentally ill, at the very least, he/she DEFINITELY has problems in thinking and life philosophy!

Most certainly, the person in question is mentally or psychologically ill.. Intercoms are mostly in restricted areas, as per my experience. I don't know how it is over there. But if it easy to get to mic of intercom for anyone then Wal-Mart must think about a little re-decoration of this store. If the intercom is easily accessible, then it complicates the matter. I mean, it can be anyone from the staff or among the customers, who did it! I can't imagine, why they haven't found the culprit. Because there are cameras always there. I think, the culprit will be declared after the police investigation is complete.. Just my guess!
