yesterday i had a pop out virus that looks like a never ending pop up to my new laptop, i just bought the laptop and i didnt know that they already have anti virus install in it as i download another one and it make my laptop crashed as they said i should at least have only 1 anti virus. so then even if i keep on clicking cancel to the pop up message it still keep on coming back every seconds. i hate it already. so i called my bf in UK and he called norton customer service to fix my laptop, i am in the philippines so i cant talk to the customer service agent over the phone so what the customer service did was he tried to get into my laptop and manipulate it.
he sent me a site where i can enter a pin code then after that i saw my mouse moving as if my mouse have its own mind. its already him who control my laptop so i just look at my screen what his doing. its so funny really to think that he can control my laptop. he even saw me and my bf chatting via webcam though we close it when we know he can see it since he already control it. it took us more than 2 hours to get the virus out and install norton.
and so i realize that someone can really have access and control so beware to those site who will ask you to enter a pin code or alike as once you do it that person can now get into your computer or laptop and get all info inside of it. you will know it if your mouse start to move on its own if that happened then reboot it.

Well, your laptop was fixed in remote assistant by costumer service, i think you must have basic knowledge to know the site that is scam/phishing site or the right site too. Sometimes costumer service do remote access to do fix problem in costumer computer and laptop like you. You must beware to install right software in your laptop, perhaps you don't know that someone install "Backdoor" in your computer than they can access your than use remote desktop but via command line. Maybe will feel that your computer no problem and normal to use but behind it your computer has been accessed by someone or program over internet.
Lastly, Congratulation to you if your laptop done fixed.

I heard that when someone takes their computer in to be repaired that the one's loading things in it, which would be the repair person, I heard they also add codes to be able to get into your pc while you surf while their still at work or at their homes..they do this by repairing your computer while their adding your software and programs..what do you think of that? Have you heard of that?

Lol.. This what call remote access. There is one software called Teamviewer, If you want to control your computer or you want to control his/her computer, Just install it with your both computer then give it the ID and password to access and control your computer if you don't really know what to do. This is the easiest way now to solve the problem by other person. My advice is, it is not really advisable to install 2 Anti Virus in your computer, one is enough. Nowadays, even you have anti virus, some viruses really bypass some anti virus, especially trojan. Do not rely on AV.
Have a nice day!!!

That is pretty normal and they call it remote assistance. I think most customer assistance do that especially abroad. I have experienced that when I was asking for assistance in our AV in our office. I chatted with their customer services and they assisted me by doing that to my PC in office. I think they practically help me with my problem and after that they could not access my PC anymore since I need to enter the pincode for them to be able to access my PC remotely.

yes i guess its remote assistance where after i enter the code theres a pop up chat window open so they can talk to me since its overseas and he ask me whats the problem. then he also ask me to allowed him to control my system and when i say yes thats the only time my mouse move. thats actually my first time so i was laughing everytime my mouse move coz he need to enter some folders in my system. that was the worst virus i had so far it really crashed ny laptop, its open and i can connect to internet but theres a pop up that keep on popping out so i cant browse. but im glad theres a service like that.

He asked you to log into teamviewer or any other site like that , it is safe because you can cancel the access once your problem is solved. Norton is the worst antivirus anyone can buy, it keeps crashing your system. Get a good antivirus software, and be careful when installing , get away from that useless norton antivirus, its totally useless. Try AVG, It is free, also there are many antivirus sites that offer free trials.

I had this problem with two of my computers, and believe me, I learned my lesson from it. I don't answer e-mails from people and places that I do not know, and I make sure to scan my computer for viruses and spy-ware every once in a while.

i guess he was remote accessing your computer, even my friend does that, i haven't tried though, that pop up is quite irritating i can understand, it doesn't close until forcibly by ending the process or the process tree from the task manager, it's all due to the javascript, they make it like that so it doesn't close and in some cases they keep on opening and can't even close them and makes the computer so slow, it is quite annoying, your BF did a good job remote accessing and yeah you are right, one must be careful with all those pin codes, some site even track your cookies and so we should be careful about it, nice your problem got solved soon, have a nice day.
