What is facebook power that make it in top of other social webs?

By far Facebook is the ultimate social site today, millions of users log on to the sight almost everyday if not by the minute. Like you I am one of those million users of Facebook,though not always but atleast once a day for about 20 minutes maximum. Now let's ask ourselves why do we keep coming back to Facebook?, my answer is simple, and that is "FUN". As you have mentioned, Friendster was on top of the social site rankings before because of it's customizable profiles and some cool animated widgets compared to the boring, plain blue colored and text flooded profile of Facebook before. But things changed when applications and games were introduced into social sites and Facebook got into it much faster than Friendster, people got bored in customizing their profiles and kept looking for new ways of socializing with friends in other words "users just wanna have fun". Fun is what compels me to open Facebook everyday, you get to play against your friends and almost all Facebook users around the world. The fun of competing and making yourself ahead of your friends on a common game you play is really fun and enhance self satisfaction. Facebookhas a cool chatbox which makes it easier to communicate among your friends and thats really cool. Playing farmville and mafia wars hooks people well into facebook and I think those games or applications did much to propel the site into the top spot. As long as you have more fun onthe site, you will keep coming back.

what really amazed me with facebook is the community within it. like you said, from kids to the elderly, everyone's just there.. they enter their real names and in full ones including their middle names too.. Relatives from all over the world who are actually strangers to one another are being connected even without them searching for each other... There was one time i received a notification asking me if this person is my relative and i mailed a note to the person and we actually were cousins.. a very interesting feature in it also includes its apps. With simple games, people from all over the world add each other up so to get more influence, members or neighbors.. thus making ends of the world meet..
