Arguably the best 'Mania of all time had a lot of great matches. Vince v. Shane, Benoit vs. Angle, HHH vs. Taker, Edge/Christian vs. Dudleys vs. Hardys but the main event was truly the MAIN EVENT. The Rock vs. Steve Austin for the WWE Title. This was my favorite bout, what about you?

I know I'm not the only one in saying that this was the BEST WRESTLEMANIA EVER! The entire card was fantastic, and the quality of the matches were phenomenal. This was one of the last ever PPVs that represented the "Attitude Era", and it was amazing.
For me, and for probably many others, the Main Event stole the show. Two of the biggest names that have ever entered the wrestling business going toe-to-toe at the grandest stage of them all for the WWE Championship? I swear that level of awesomness no longer exists today

The matches between the Hardys, Edge/Christian and the dudleys were always amazing and the match between them that night prooved no different however like you my favourite was the rock and stone cold. Solid performance, never dull, they carries through the match the whole time with an amazing performance that is one of my favourite matches of all time.

This may be the greatest Wrestlemania of all time. I think we could even go as far as to say that this might be the best WWF/WWE Pay Per View of all time. The only one that comes close in my opinion is the Calgary Stampede show in 1997 and that only had four matches(but those were four good matches, mind you). This one was four hours and only had two matches that were weak, but kept short(RTC against the APA and Tazz and Chyna against Ivory). Also, this is a historically significant show as it caps off the Attitude era. Unfortunately, the next year was a rocky one after this. First the Invasion storyline that was a can't miss that did miss in the worst possible way. Then there was that six month period post-Invansion, pre-brand extension, that lead to some of the most bland, unremarkable television that WWE put out ever. Still this Pay Per View was several different kinds of awesome.
As for the greatest match on the show, I'm going to have to say Austin and the Rock as well. This is the absolute best Austin and Rock match. Of course, the Austin heel turn might have not been the best idea in hindsight and to do it in Texas might have not been the best idea. Although it did lead to some fun skits involving Austin, Mr. McMahon, and Kurt Angle that summer. I don't know what they did for business but they entertained me. This was perhaps the swan song of the Rock as a full time competitor. Sure he showed up a lot in 2001-2002 afterwards, but he slowly faded into acting, being around only half of the time in 2002, only being around in 2003 for a couple of months, in 2004 for about a month, and then he was gone. I thought the finish with Austin being frustrated that nothing worked and just beating the Rock senseless with a chair a dozen times was fabulously. An absolute masterstroke and it fit the match well.
Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit was a very close second. This match worked in the sense that it had a lot of great technical wrestling from both men but the underlining story of Benoit being just a little better worked well. The finish of Kurt Angle needing to cheat because he was outgunned worked. I thought this was the second best Angle/Benoit match, that was only eclipsed by their match at the Royal Rumble 2003.
The Three Way Hardcore Match was also up there as just great matches. It had two monsters in Kane and the Big Show beating up Raven, who was trying to do everything in his power to find a way to keep his title. It had golf carts as well. I thought 2001 had a lot of great hardcore matches when Rob Van Dam came in but this one was a hint of the greatness to come. Also next month with Rhino and Raven as well.
Really this was an absolutely awesome Wrestlemania card all and all. Mostly everything worked. The few things that did not work were kept short. The Attitude Era closed out with a bang. Unfortunately, what followed was not all that good but I'm sure I'll have plenty of an opportunity to discuss that abysmal late 2001-early 2002 era when we get to Wrestlemania 18.

Yeahh, hard choice, hm? I will try hahaha. Well, my favorite combats of this Wrestlemania was HHH vs Taker, Edge/Christian vs. Dudleys vs. Hardys and the Main Event.
But, my favorite match was Edge/Christian vs. Dudleys vs. Hardys because, oh man, that's so sick!
This fight marked on period in my life! haha Is my favorite fight and I have it recorded 'till today. Very sick, good times when Edge was fighting beside Christian.
