I suppose that I have to respect other mylot members who spend a lot of time to write a page long or half page long of discussions. They really giving it time to dedicate on posting these discussion, and make the content as clear as they can. For me, I was out of patience sometimes, with a first glance of page long writing content, I just click on other discussions. I will learn to be patient, and read some longer discussions. Do you like to read long discussions?

I don't mind long OR short discussions, provided they have a decent point to make!

to each his own but some of the most stupid and inane discussions here are only one or at most two sentences long. maybe the younger generation do not have a long enough attention span. lol lol lol.

I have patience... What I donĀ“t have is much time to write something really long. On the other hand, I think you have to be precise and concise at the same time, otherwise the discussion will be tedious.

kingparker today so many young people have no time for anything unless its a text message so no of course they will not respond to our long discussions half a page my God what is with people if you are at all'caring about content why not be lazy and sit and read the darned
thing, you might even learn something new. I get so tired of people
'always saying I never read long discussions, so evidently anything over one ortwo sentences is s o o o o long, poor young people is not your attention span up to that? I feel sorry for you, must be boring to read our two or three paragraph discussions then. a first glance, well to me a short inane discussion about boxing fans or soccer or cricket leave me saying yuck I can care less. my lot does ask for quality discussions I know for a fact very short ones do not even get paid. I am getting enough responses on my longer discussions that I do not worry about people who cannot take time to read more than two sentences, I just feel sorry for them. I think they are used to instant gratification in all things.,

Hi kingparker,
I do prefer a long discussion then one line discussion. We can see there characters of those who started a discussion by looking at their discussion description (main discussion).
What I found is usually people who write more on their discussion would tend to coming back to their discussion. They would leave their comment on every responses in their discussions and come again later to reply any comment back for his or her comment. And this usually make his or her discussion truly a discussion.
One line discussion usually (not all) started by someone who never care about their discussions. They just posted it and never come back to read and leave a comment on the responses. They treat their discussions as a question and answer, which is not a discussion at all.
Full of information discussion also give us more opportunity to give our response. We might not able to response to certain part of their discussion but we might find something that we can comment, agree or disagree with it.
We usually know the discussion starter stand on the issues and we either agree and give our reason for it or disagree and give our reason for it. To know someone stand on the issues actually would give us a little bit picture about what might come to us from the discussion starter either we agree or disagree with him or her.

yes I like to read and answer long discussion and i have no trouble reading so far. My patience is just terrible one can say. im an avid fan of lengthy descriptions but when the discussion talks about something i have no idea of I ignore it and go somewhere else. its hard at first but when I have tried many times it has become natural.

Hi cowboy, I have to say, and please don't take this as a personal attack, just my opinion, but how in hell are you EVER going to learn ANYTHING about anything if you dismiss a topic you know nothing about. My advice would be read and learn, as it's only when you've actually read about something and absorbed it that you can jusifiably have an opinion, and we really ought to have opinions on everything,we are human beings and curiosity is how we advance.
Granted not everything grabs the imagination but surely you owe it to yourself to at least READ it.

I understand what your saying but will you tell me to read a discussion about politics in America when I prefer to read about the politics in my home country?

I understand your point entirely BUT you have to realise that the politics of other countries are directly and indirectly linked to our own, I'm not suggesting you should read up in depth on the politics of every country, that would be tedious beyond ANYTHING, but it is important to have a little knowledge of what goes on outside our own shores. Not everything is about politics, there are so many interesting things that happen EVERYWHERE and you seem too smart not to want to know about at least SOME of them.

Long or short, it doesn't mnatter, as long as I can relate to the topic at hand, as I only post to the ones that I am interested in. Long discussions let me know that the one who wrote it, took time to think things through before he or she posted it. Actually, the longer ones sometimes are very interesting as they have a lot to say, and sometimes I will have lots to say as well, but not always. I would rater read a long discussion that ones that weren't thought out and are maybe one ot tow lines, as a lot have been that way lately. I do have the patience though, espeically if I want to earn, even though mylot is more than earning anyway. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

when i come across long Discussions of my interest, it intrigues me of what is this about ... i'll try to read it till the middle part and if i don't understand , i'll read it till the end hoping i will get what is being meant. But when at the end i still do not understand, i'll leave it alone.
