Some people might think, if someone going to a movie theater a lone watching a movie, that must be weird. I heard that comment before, and I don't mind if someone say that to me, and I overhear it accidentally. I did go to movie by myself before. Not that I don't like to be accompanied by somebody, I just want to watch my favorite movies alone, without anybody of casual chat while I was enjoying the movie. Can you go to the cinema alone?

I've never thought it odd to see someone at the theater alone before. Maybe they just want to see a movie that none of their friends or family was interested in.
I know most people that I know have no interest in the types of movies I like. I don't go alone though, I usually just wait for DVD.

Premiere movies during primetime are very costly as well.
My wife and I went to see Alice In Wonderland recently.
Just the tickets cost $25 for the two of us.
After eating etc the night cost well over $100.
During the day a new movie costs me $4.50 is all to see.
As always.....

When my husband and I go to the movies its always in the afternoon. It costs the 2 of us about $22 to see a 3D movie, not counting drinks or popcorn since we never get those.

I do and have a lot actually.
I am 55, and my father lives with me and I care for him 24 hours a day 7 days a week. So therefore I do not work outside the home. I enjoy getting away to a movie while my wife is at work during the days. It helps relieve some of the stress I get from taking care of dad. The theatre I go to is only a few miles away so it isn't all that long I am gone. I usually leave as he lays down for a nap too.
As always.....

I don't mind going to movie theaters alone. I've done it quite a few over the years. Though honestly, I haven't done it in a very long time. I actually have not seen a movie in theaters in probably close to three years now.

I never go to cinema alone but I hardly even goes to cinema with my friends unless they really wanted me to go with them. I prefer watching movies and films online or through televisions at home as it's more comfortable.

I haven't gone to movie houses alone to watch a movie. I mean, the activity for me is more of a bonding opportunity with friends and family so in most instances, I go to movies with any of them. If someone chooses to go to a movie alone, I think there's nothing wrong with that. I guess, people do it for them to really internalize the movie, study the movie... like in the case of one of my cousins, he does it to study the movie so, he does not have company probably to take note of the details.

I haven't seen a movie in the theater alone. I usually go with my mom, my brother, or both of them. Even so, I don't think going alone to the theater is weird. I want to try it sometimes too.

I will see movies alone, although I honestly don't see very many movies in theaters anymore. If I seriously want to watch a movie and enjoy the whole thing I'd rather go alone. If I don't think the movie will be too amazing, and if the theater isn't too busy, I like having people I can kind of casually talk to.
That said, I worked at a movie theater for a while. It's not that uncommon for people to see a movie on their own. It's only weird when you act weird about it, really.

Goint to the cinema for me means being with family or with friends. I can't go to the cinema alone, it is weird for me. When i go to see a movie, i always see people be with their lover, family or friends so it is "strange" to be alone with all these groups of people.
But maybe a day, i will try to go to the cinema, just to know "how is it" xD.

why not. ??, seems more comfortable when we go to a movie theater alone because we are better live up to a story in the movie. Yeah, Most people prefer to bring a friends or couple to accompany her to the cinema but there is no harm in also watch alone.

no. I would love to watch a movie in cinema with other people than to be alone. I enjoy the movie more because i have someone to laugh, cry or scream with whatever the scene may see in the movie.

I watch movies alone when I get the urge to get away from everyone or when I really want to enjoy a movie. It is a lot like dining alone. People often wonder why anybody would want to eat alone. I for one think that those who cannot eat alone will eventually go hungry. I suppose I have been single for so long that I have come to like my own company.

As far as I am concerned, I think I do not like go to the cinema alone. In the cinema ,there will may exist a lot pairs of lovers.I think I can not bear people who just do that like a lover in front of me. If I want to go to the cinema, I think I will just bring my girl friend to go there. I will go there alone. Have a nice day.

Yeah, I go and watch movies alone. This started when a few male friends ruined some group movie dates we planned, because they were too fussy and have all sorts of drama, therefore delaying the entrance to the movie theater and missing some scenes, and most of all, wasting my time! So this happened like three times (different guys) and I couldn't take their drama any more, so when The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe came out, I wanted so much to watch it but don't want to undergo through another guy-drama, so I decided to go and watch it alone. It's good because I don't have to wait for anyone and I can go in and out whenever I want.

Sure, you can go alone. I see a few men doing it from time to time....but...they usually look like single, lonely men who can't get a date.
I guess if I really, really wanted to see a movie though, and none of my friends or family could go, then I might go alone. But only if I had no other choice for seeing the movie.
There is a hilarious episode of "Friends" where Rachel decides to try going to dinner by herself, and she ends up liking it...it's like a date with herself! Quality time with herself! haha. But this doctor guy she met earlier on sees her dining by herself, and suddenly thinks something wrong with her and doesn't want anything to do with her anymore! Ha! It's comical for the TV show... but sadly, in real life some people probably do view it this way.
To each his own. And who really cares what other people think anyway? As long as what you do doesn't physically harm anyone else.
