Perhaps, what this my say is a stale information for you as a parent, because maybe you all have been over and over again reprimanded, bans and advise your child not to long time play a video game.
Yes, A research which study a link between video games and the spirit of children's learning shows that the video game can hinder academic development, at least for boys. The results showed that boys were who given the PlayStation II more slower progress in reading, writing skills and have more trouble learning.
for that, as parents, we must continue monitor our kids when they playing video games. I'm believe, It was hard see our kids just spend more time to playing video games.
Keep in mind, Playing video games can not replace the traditional academic activities, such as do homework and reading. However, keep in mind also, educational games, not video games, still more help our children to learn

I agree bacause I was disturbed by video games myself in childhood. I spend much time on it, especially in summer and winter holidays. I just feel weak of the abilities of reading, writing and analyzing. And I also find it a huge waste of time for playing video game. I would rather spend time on reading books or having sports. So If I have kids, I would not let them accessible to video games which may spoiled them.

What? So your the kind of person who does everything that he/she want's in her/his own childhood, but won't let his children to the same. So you won't let your kids have fun, even if you did the same thing?
That's quite unfair I would say.
I repeat: Video games fasten the reaction time, and thus may save your child's life in a car accident, or something like that.

Dear friend,
At times these kinds of advancements in society do harm to children and even to the society. I had heard that in a study it is known than more children tend to violent when they usually play games that tend to have more kills and violence. It do have more impact on their brain functions. May be if much better options should be given to these children for better growth both mentally and physically so that a better society could be brought up.

my son is four years old and he plays video games. but only the educational ones. he plays cooking with mama, go diego go that teaches him different kinds of animals, and a few mini games of mario. though he plays games my wife makes sure that he only plays one hour and before sleeping. we parents plays a big role in guiding our child/children.

I approved the educational games rather than the video games that would only provide sometimes violence to the kids. There are some video games that entice the character to kick, kill or used bombs to destroy the enemy and that is not good. they will only learn violence at an early age.
There must be something can be done about it. I would suggest that more educational games should be introduced to the children so that it will give them more good than bad influence. A games that teaches children how to write and read is a good video theme.

It depends, that how old the child is. If he/she is 10 years old, then maybe you could get him something better than cooking mama. I have played video games quite hardcorely, but my grades are just going up, or then not moving. It's not about that they play video games, but that how long and if that do they have the time to do homework? It's about, how much they do study, and not that how much they play.
Some researchers have found that playing video games speeds up the reaction time, and thus may save your child's life one day.
Keep that in mind you parents.

for me video games can cause addiction to your children.,just like what happen to my nephew.,he always skip his meals because of that video games.,and even his homework, activities in school and in church he cannot participate well.,parents should guide and teach their children how important to manage their time between temporal and spiritual aspect.,parents should always give time and attention to their children on this matter..,
