do you walk your talk?

Hi friends, Did you ever heard of the saying "Walk the Talk?" It means backing up one's thought with action. It also has the same context with: "Action speaks louder than words" and "Practice what you preach." We often say a lot of things and give advises to our friends, but do you really do what you say? Or are you all mouth but no trousers? Do you make promises but never do it? Walk it like you talk it!

Hi OP, If it's really worth being put into action i do. i used to do lots of walk-talk. most of the time it resulted positive for great actions. i am so careful in giving promises. i don't want to break it or not make it. so, if i am not sure of what i will promise i just keep quiet and give the person a smile.

Hi msf, I agree doing the walk the talk results in great actions. I like your way of giving promises. If you can't do it, you just smile. At least, the person you hadn't promise receives your lovely smile. what a great consolation.

Nice idea, onlyprincess!!! Many guys make many promises but you can't see it in their actions...It' just like preaching without doing. It is advisable for us, especially preachers like me to be a good example. Your life is like a mirror to the public. What they see in you reflects who you are. So, better live what you preach. Anyway, for the listeners, better not see the weaknesses of the speaker but rather look at the content of the message if it's helpful or not. If YES, then apply it. If NO, better not follow...

Very well said, raulj, I agree. We must be a good example, especially for the little ones, because our actions reflect who we are. That is correct, focus on the message of the preacher, not its weakness, so you could decide if it's helpful to you or not. Thanks for sharing!

Well, whenevr I talk I sometimes forget to do it. I really want to practice what I preach, but sometimes I just forget it. And when I remember, I've done it already.

I guess you would never know! As long as we hide in the anonymity of social networking sites, like myLot, we would never know. I could be dishing out advices here, drawing from my own personal experiences, but nobody would ever check if my experiences are really true. And that's the beauty of it! PS I do walk the talk, if I say so myself.

Hi bounce, Oh yes, we could never know in this virtual world where we only know each other by our usernames. You have a point there. But I'm glad even of the anonymity, you walk your talk. I could say so myself too. Thanks for sharing!

As far as I am concerned, I think I will just walk as I have talked. I think if the one who has said he will do this and that, Then I think he must try his best to make it come true, no matter how difficult it is. If you are doing your best, no matter what the end will be, I think you still should be a success. Have a nice day.

Hi monkeylong, Yes, I agree on giving your best, even if you don't win. I still consider it a success. At least you tried, right. It's much better than being a talker, but not getting up to do what he's talking about. thanks for sharing!

For the most part, I keep my commitments. But I'm only human and sometimes I fail.

We all do, sirlot. To err is human. But it would be better if we back our talk with actions. Thanks for sharing!
