Nope, not for me.. lol =D I'm still trying to build my website as well.. hehe ^_^ I have been searching around for years, and yet i cant find any good ones, which is free or maybe cheap?? hehe ^_^
THat's why in the end, i end up with a blog instead, but it's too troublesome, and a personalised website will be the best.. haha =D
I will be waiting for solution from respondents to your post.. hehe

I did my website on wordpress. It is a very good builder and the website looks very professional. It is good on wordpress.com because you can get any number of themes you want. people from all around the world are working on improvements. so I suggest you wordpress.

The only downfall with wordpress is that you are limited if you want more themes and more hosting options. But yes I use http://wordpress.com and it's much more professional feeling the most blog sites like http://blogger.com or http://blogspot.com With Blog Spot and Blogger you can customize your blog free. SIDE NOTE: you can use live Journal too http://livejournal.com but like wordpress there are some limitation.

Hi,
Do not go for free websites because those sites are equivalent to a blog. Blogspot is far more better than these sites.
One best option for you is www.yosro.com. You can purchase a domain for 1 year and then they provide you a free web hosting with 5 pages. They provide a software called website tonight where you can just type in the matter as you do for a blog. There are more than 200 templates from which you can choose a model for your website.
I have purchased a .info domain at 99 cents for 1 year and i got 5 pages with website tonight software for free for 1 year.
So you can try this and after that if you want more pages you can upgrade your account or you can go for another web hosting company.
You can check my website which I have built from that site in my profile.

Hi, now a days anyone can create websites without any programming background. A large number of content management systems are there like drupal, joomla, wordpress, etc. You can easily set up a wesite/blog with in a short time. I think godaddy dotcom
is a good option for buying a domain and space. Best of luck!

I make all my websites at www.webs.com because it is the most organized website builder there is.You can get a basic site free,or advanced for payment. It is a great website and has tons of storage. There are also many features on webs.com.I love the site, and I would recommand it for anyone looking to make a website. Its the only one that really gets the job done.

I use yola.com to do my websites. It's free and pretty easy to use. If you create a site you like, you can buy the domain from them.

Hello dorothy09,
1st of all, I'm happy you are interested in making a website. Take user Trykro's advice and use http://w3.schools.com a spin. The website is a really useful tool for me. But if you're not comfortable starting doing HTML codeing right off the back, I would recommend you using page builders. I would recommend you geocities but Yahoo shut them down. Depending how comfortable and how fast you want to learn I recommend using the link I posted above as a tool or use http://webmonkey.com WEBMONKEY is one of the 1st website out there that supported many beginner personal website such as tripod, lyco and angel fire. They have color code chart and "1-2-3" easy steps on coding tutorial. Lastly if you are interested in permade layouts, I recommend you check out http://daydreamgraphics.com. This is a community site that allows users to distribute free layout design if you don't want make your own layout. HOSTING wise, there are many good host. I recommend you going for a host that gives you a free domain URL. Or if you like, you are welcome to use http://godaddy.com and purchase a cheap domain URL and transfer that domain name to your choice of host.
