ciprofloaxacin is used for bacterial infection and belong to fluoroquinolone class it produce and help to repair genetic material like (DNA). If you have infectoin you can take ciprofloaxacin for adults 250 mg to 750 mg is enough or you can consult with your physician. Do not take iron salt at the same time. Take ciprofloxacin within the gap of two hours because iron salt stops absorption of ciprofloxacin. There are lot of antibiotic medicine but necessary to consult with doctor before taking. ritika

I know ciprofloxacin antibiotic, it was what my son's pediatrician and pulmonologist gave him when he was confined 24 days in the hospital because of pneumonia. That was terrible, he was 18 days old that time and now he is turning 3 years old and very healthy.

I know that medicine. I am actually taking it now because I have an infection. I am hoping that after I take it for a week then I would better. The doctor will surely prescribe a new antibiotic for me if I wont feel better. Maybe its going to be of a higher dosage and I dont want that. I just dont think that taking medicine especially antibiotic is not very good if you are taking it for 2 weeks straight.

Quinolones these days are being reserved as a last-line treatment for bacterial infections. Normally, other more common antibiotics are used, such as amoxycillin or cephalexin. This is because there has been increased bacterial resistance in the last couple of years, and they want to keep the quinolones safe so that resistance does not develop towards it. If you notice, there hasn't been a new antibiotic developed for years now, hence keeping the quinolones as last-line treatment will help to ensure that there will still be antibiotics should bacteria become resistant to all other antibiotics. And one more point to add, one serious side effect of quinolones like ciprofloxacin is tendonitis; so if someone takes a floxacin medication and they feel soreness in joints, they should discontinue the antibiotic immediately and consult the doctor.

nowdays choosing appropriate antibiotics is not an easy job because of the high frequency of resistance among bacteria .One of the big reason for this problem is self medication.antibiotic should always be taken for full course, which is diff for diff diseases so its better to consult doctor than to create a future problem
