in the USA they have several ways to buying movie tickets now. there is going to the actual theater and going to the front to buy them, some theaters have atm type machines out front to self serve buy your ticket and there is several places to buy online and print out..
i usually buy mine the old fashioned way because i usually dont think ahead about a movie or if i do have plans i want to make sure i can make it before buying tickets in case some one runs late or something.. 1 time i did do the online print thing because i got 2 free tickets to angels and demons so i did use it that one time but i like getting the regular ticket stubs to collect also.. i have never tried the atm type booth..
have you tried other methods than the old fashioned way? do you have a way you prefer? have you ever had a bad experience with the online way of buying them? i havent but i would have never tried if it wasnt for getting them free either because i was always afraid they wouldnt take them or something.

I liketo buy tickets the old fashioned way as well. These days there is rarely a movie I really, really, really want to see, but if there is an instance I'd but my tickets in advance. Even at that, I'd still probably go to the ticket booth, though. I like to stick to old ways, lol.

i go to theaters in the mall so its no biggie to just buy it early the old fashioned way and walk around till it starts lol.. old habits die hard i guess

I still buy mine the old fashioned way. :-)
I see things like Fandango and online services, but I guess I'm just resistant to technology sometimes. I don't know anyone who uses the other services either, unless it just never comes up in movie discussions.

The only way I have ever bought a movie ticket was at the front desk at the theater. I'm usually pretty spontaneous about watching movies, and have never ever bought a ticket in advance.

unless its planned with friends im spontaneous too. i rather wait and watch them at home though so if it is a bad movie i didnt spend an arm and a leg on it

If I know a movie is going to sell out fast and I want to see it opening day or something, I'll buy tickets online first. That's what I've done for both Twilight movies so far. Otherwise I just go up to the counter and get my tickets the old-fashioned way. There are few movies I want to see opening day that will sell out quickly, so I cut the hassle of buying tickets online.
