When i was on high school, i don't study, don't read notes, even homework or project but still i passed. College life is really different, when i was on my first year level of college it was really hard in my part to cope up with things especially on my first day of class. It was like your in a new world that only yourself you can depend on. Back in high school, it's normal for student to copy assignments even in exams, they are copying on each other. But here in college or let me say in my course or program we are not doing that. We pass because of our own hard work and we oblige to study and read so many books. And now i realize that when i did that since my first day of studying i will not regret things. And maybe i'm more intelligent.
Now i'm on my third year, one more year and I'm off. But for me this is just the start, the start of life. Others said, its more easy if you study than getting a job or your in work. I don't have any comments on that, but as long your happy on what you are doing nothing is impossible. you can make what you want.
So how about you? did you have same experience like me? some realizations that you can share?

I remember in high school that I was just an average student. I excelled in some but mostly, my grades were aan average of 85 at most. I asked my Algebra teacher how we could apply our lessons in daily life. She told me to have patience like in answering the math problems. I got disappointed not with the teacher but how some lessons are not really something I could use everyday. I admit that I could use some basic knowledge and formula from algebra but I don't really apply much of what I learned in high school because I have no use for some of them. I studied like an average student and didn't really try to excel.
When I was in college, I understood beforehand that what we were going to study were what we would need for our job. It gave me the motivation to study because I knew there was a purpose for everything we were studying for. I also got motivated to excel because I studied in that school since I was kinder and that kind of gave me the idea that I should be best as a pure product of that school. I did excel and came in first. By 2nd year college, we had some new classmates, most of them second courses. One of them if a second courser and is really intelligent. When we graduated, he was first and I was second. Technically, I see it that I was first compared to my classmates who are the same age as me. I'd say I really strived for excellence in college, although I admit it was really tough.
I had an office job last year and I'd say I prefer it over school. Yes, I miss school, but having work and not taking homework anymore and getting paid is better!

Hi Ayebelle,
There's really a great difference between the two. being in college requires more responsibility. you've grown a lot and is learning to be more independent. you are more free to be your own self and decide for yourself too--a better decision i mean. i enjoy highschool life those fancy and carefree years but i love being in love college more.

High school is way different from college because high isnt that serious at all. College was really serious for me because my future lies in the hands of my college life. Though I must say that I enjoyed high school very much because I was part of the student body organization. I was famous at school for that and I really like the idea that students looked for me before cause they were not allowed to take their examinations if my signature will not appear on their clearances. When I was in college, I was a nobody. I didnt want to be part of the student body organization anymore either because it will surely take a lot of my time.

Yes, College is entirely different because unlike High School, College is a serious part of your life toward success. If you don't pay attention, you won't be prepared for the career you intend to major in. You have to do as much as possible so you can succeed. You're no longer living the typical teenager life style that you probably had in H.S. You've got to be very focused on what you're doing.

absolutely, its different. In high school you just take things easy but in college you have to be more serious especially when you are in third and fourth year in preparation for your future career. Major subjects are there, thesis writings and etc. But if you are well adjusted and you know how to manage your time everything will gonna be alright.

i'm done with school already, graduated from university last year..and yes, i totally agree that college life is definitely different..you really have to work on your own..and your mentors and professors won't care if you pass or not..they see you as just another college student who will make or break it..

I didn't experience such a thing like yours. I am a student right now and I study and go for my exams. Actually I am a first rank holder and so I ahev to learn otherwise I can't get first rank. But at times, if I don't get any answer, I ask my friends and if they too don't know the answer then I think on my own what should I write. I don't know about college life but as my sister is in college doing her last year, from her I came to know quite a few things like what we study and how we study in school is completely different in college. The answers are very long and difficult. But I know that if we do hard work surely we can achieve everything and as you said nothing is impossible.

I know that I am in college and I work much harder than I did in high school. I am also married which makes it a little bit harder because I have to balance between being a wife and a student. Before I got married I worked and went to school, but it had hurt me because it had almost caused me my health. Now, I am just a housewife and a student. I do study hard and try to get the best grades possible. I do end up not sleeping all that well, but after I finish in April I know it will be well worth it.

Well, my case is different. I was a hardworker at school. I always wants to top first, so i give up my playing and watching tv. I always have a book and read all times. But when i joined college, life is different. I missed lots of fun at schoolings. So i enjoyed my college life much. Well i dint study well at first 2 years. Then at my final year, i worked smart and graduated with a good rank. So i realised its a matter of interest and ambition that takes you to the dream and make fulfill!

yes, I think so, as we have a degree higher we must study more to pass. We have to read more books and doing exercises more. The friends are o.k. and sometimes we review some homework.
College we have more disciplines to complete, and some sports too, i think is a good social environment and much educational than the high school.
i have a university degree and is more dificult and demanding than the college.

Hi,ayebelle.
I had different experience with you.
When i was on high school,i must study hardly to enter into university. At that moment,i study all day and have little time to play games and read books irrelevant with examination.U know, the competition is very fierce.
When i was on college,i have a lot of time to play games ,read books and other things what i want to do.
For me,whether college or high school,i very cherish those moment.

I agree with you. College is a lot different from high school. High school seems like a day in the park compared to college. I feel like most teachers in high school baby their students, too....I didn't feel very prepared for college like I think I should have been. High school teachers seemed to let things slide easier and the assignments were so much easier than college asignments. I think college is a nice reality slap though. In college, not only do you learn more about responsibility with the work-load, but you also learn a lot about people and yourself as well.

i agree that high school is different from college. before when i was in high school i can easily cope up my lessons and i am active in every school activities.it was easy for me to get an award . but when i was in college things are more serious. you are on your own because your new classmates are totally complete strangers and you have to begin dealing with differences.

Obviously. It is different and it should be. The first reason is that the discipline is much less in college......

As far as I am concerned, I think the college life is really difficult from the high school time. In high school, I usuallu have a very little free time to do this or that. The most of my time is reading and writing. But in college life, there will be a lot free time for me, and I can manage it myself. It is a wonderful momnet for to develop yourself from the bottom. Have a nice day.
