I know that this question may sound rude or too personal but I'm just curious to know if you guys practice saving. I regret a little now since I'd been neglectful about this aspect of my life. I never knew the value of saving and it is only now that I have come to realize that I must start saving some money no matter how little. I have just started doing this but it is very frustrating because when I run out of money, I always resort to my savings. It seems like it is impossible to save nowadays. Are you in the same situation?

It is very hard to save money, especially when you do not have money coming in and still have bills to pay. I do have a savings account, but unfortunately it is being depleted monthly due to my student loan payments. The only upside is that my fiancee is the breadwinner and pays for everything else while I stay at home and raise our child.

I am a strong believer in savings. People say you should have 3-6 months worth of living expenses set aside. That would help in case of a layoff or unexpected event.
I like ways to save that are easy for me..example..my bank transfers $25 out of my checking account every month and transfers it to my savings...that is $300 each year I save without even noticing it missing

hi. .I feel sorry for myself because i don't save money. So if there is emergency I don't have money to get in my pocket. Actually, I am running out of money because of buying foods that i want to eat. No matter how much the food is i will buy it. anyway, I'm still a student and i still have time to practice saving money right?

As much as possible, I try to save money. I remember letting my mom keep my money when I was in high school. There was a time when we had few money before the income so she had to borrow from my savings. When I wanted to use some of my money, she said she needed it for us (food, bills, etc.) and she will pay when the income comes. It's alright. I understand that it is for our own family's good and she really does pay back my money, but it frustrates me that I can't use my own money so I opened an ATM account. I kept monetary birthday and Christmas gifts there.
When I graduated college, I received a big sum of money from my aunt that was just exact for the minimum bank account balance. I kept it there and have been saving money there ever since. I'm not working right now because I have to take a major exam that would take like 3-5 months of study. After that, I will apply again for a job and continue saving money.

I've only got a savings account now because this new bank I signed up with is so anal about everything and they won't let me have a checking account yet till I take care of some issues but I had to leave my other bank because I was losing more than I was putting in. I'd have been better off having a secret vault behind a big picture in my fancy office like in the movies.

We have savings, but, like you, we find that there are always these little things that happen that deplete it. I mean, our savings are mostly for emergency situations that we might need it for, but it's hard to build it up when these situations keep happening that drain it. For example, I just had to get a new engine for my car. That took just about all of our savings right there. So for every step we take forward we take two more backwards. xD
But I think savings are really a good idea. Even if it's just $5 or $10 a week, that certainly can add up over time and before you know it you've actually got a decent amount in savings!

I save all the money I can. There is so much to spend it on.Its hard for me to save.Thats why I put it all in a jar,and never touch it unless its a emergancy.I think its hard to even get money to save. The only time I get money is when its my birthday or Christmas. It really is hard to make any money now a days. Its hard to save money to.I know exactly how you feel.

I always prioritize my savings when money at hand,I always think about tomorrow may brings.I don't exactly know what will happen next but I just think being ready for tomorrow as we don't know about the changes of time. For me savings is very important, I even cut down some of my unfavorable self expenses after realizing it get nothing to do with me, so instead of some luxury I put on more into my savings and it works.
Happy myLotting!

I've always valued savings ever since I was a little kid. I remember my parents would provide me a little piggy bank just so I could have something to put my coins whenever I get home from school. It was a good learning process that I learned from them. It was my way of not wasting money at the same time while I was provided my daily allowance. I always thought of savings because I know that there will really be times when you need something and you won't have any other option. Touching your savings shouldn't be the first option. You should just touch that whenever there's really emergency needed that you got to spend it. Other than that, there has to be savings set aside at least each month. You won't notice it, that within a year, it has already reached tons of bucks.

I don't find the question rude or anything, actually I think of it as a great subject for a healthy discussion. We all need a savings in today's bad economy. Way to many people overspend and use up all their funds on all kinds of stuff that they really do not need, simply because they don't face the fact about bad times. In reality it wouldn't hurt if we all became more frugal in our spendings. I am personally trying to create a more frugal living for our family to reduce our spending habits, and actually blog about it. It is not that hard and not really that big of a change in everyday living. It is one foot in front of the other.

i was once like you till i had a child and i learned that all monetary gifts that are given to my son are his and his alone and i soon realized that the money i accumulated in his behalf qualifies for a time deposit already so i opened one for him. of course, since he is just 4 years old, the account is still in my name. still, my other savings that go in my atm really do go to my immediate and urgent needs that almost always creep up all the time. this is why i don't yet withdraw my paypal earnings. the moment i do that i would make this it would qualify for a dollar time deposit. that way i'd get the real hang of what savings mean and the money sure would be untouched for a year. by then i might even lose memory of it and the money would be really worth it (waiting) some day.

Over the years, I managed to accumulate some savings, though not a substantial amount. With my meager monthly income and a family to feed, there really isn't much to save at the end of the month, even though I try to budget my spending.
