I think it depends,I refer to myself as not being a vegitarian.I just stay away from fatty greasy meats like pork, and sea food.I do not like that kind.Really eating any meat is not being a vegitarian.A vegiatarian is a person who doesn't eat any meat.So I am not a vegitarian because I eat meat.I really don't think there is a such thing as a part time vegitarian.

I think theres such thing in the point that people do it but I dont think theres such thing as its right or a legitament way to be vegetarian.
If your vegetarian then your concered for animal and eaarth and nature righst and eatin meat part of the time is like lying or cheating or betraying those animals that you say your heloing or defending.
I dont think its right o call yourself a halfvegetarian as it puts a bad spin on the name. If your going to do it, you have to fully commit yourself. I mean, hats the poihnt otherwise? Just so you can say you are? That unfair.

I, myself became a fulltime vegetarian two years ago bc I was horrified at the factory farms...(see meet your meat dot com )I sobbed through the whole video and was changed from that moment on.
I say my heart can't bear to eat anyone w/ a face, feelings, heart, soul or family. (yes that includes fish, seafood and birds. )
To answer your question though. YES there is such a thing and they are called Flexitarians. I am personally grateful for flexitarians too because every little bit helps and makes a difference. HUGS : )
(Vegetarians can choose to eat eggs and dairy although I personally only buy eggs from cage free range free hens and from cows who are not injected with hormones and antibiotics and mostly drink soymilk)
(Vegans do not eat eggs or dairy or meat because of how the animals are often treated to get these items and also avoid honey and many foods with animals ingredients such as gelatin which is made from dissolved cow bones - seriously. They also live a lifestyle of not buying cosmetics or other products with animals by products in them or that are tested on animals and of course do not wear fur or leather. ) I follow many of these things but not quite as well as vegans do so I dont feel I deserve the name of vegan myself. I very much admire them though.
