Cats Can Be So Naughty At Times!

Cats are so territorial aren't they? Mum's cats are free to go outside into a big garden...and beyond if they so wish.
Earlier this week Mum asked me to order an Albertine Rose for her online..so I did. Today she planted it in the garden and what did one of her cats do?
Ellie went right next to the new plant and proceeded to do the biggest poo known to Man! Mum described it as going round and round and pointing upwards like a Pyramid! The cat proceeded to do the usual thing of pawing soil over the poo, going round in circles as she did so. Unfortunately, she soon got bored and left it with the top of it protruding through the soil like a Walnut Whip!
Amazingly, Mum wants to "let it go hard so I can remove it with some kitchen roll tomorrow!"
Would you do that? I'd be tempted to leave it in case the sight of it made me sick!
By the way Mum did say to the cat, "Why don't you go next door like my previous moggies used to?!"

Goodness me, what a strange thing to eat! Mum's cats (besides pooing next to them) eat plants outside, especially the leaves!

I would leave that there as well. It can become soil food. But, sometimes you can't control what an animal might do. And, they are such devels when it comes to that kind of thing. My cats aren't like that, though George, my partner, hates the fact they like wood.

To be quite honest I would probably have to say a little of both. Precious in particular likes to scratch. Chinnia likes to eat non edable food items. And both think I should use the couch according to their wims.

Do they really? Wow, that is unusual. Do they scratch the wood or try to eat it? My Flojo scrapes her face on the corners of items, presumably to leave her scent there.

Cats mark their territory in the most amazing ways don't they - lol. Moomin is just as bad, last year I spent ages digging over a vegetable patch while he dozed in the sunshine. The second I had finished raking over the ground he strolled over, padded across it a few times, sniffed around a little then dug a hole right where I had planted seeds and planted a steamer!!
It's his garden so I guess he was entitled, but he will see off any intruders

Haha! I'm sooo glad Ellie isn't the only cat who does this! "Steamer" I like it..conjures up lots of images!

That's a good point you make there. I suppose if I was a cat and the soil had been dug up like that I'd be "in there" too lol.

My cat is an indoor kitty and he can be really naughty. His favorite trick is to sit in the pantry closet with all the food where he is not supposed to be and getting many things out knocking them off the shelf etc.

Oh dear! Cats are like that aren't they? I know mine is dying to jump up into the airing-cupboard as it gets nice and warm in there. She's currently underneath the radiator. Life of Riley lol.

Hi Janey,
I have tow cats, but I don't know where they go but not in my garden or the next doors, maybe the garden centre few fences away from us, lol!

Haha! That's exactly what Mum wants her cats to do but they're so lazy and chase mice in their own garden so I guess there's no need for them to venture elsewhere, more's the pity lol.

Don't I know it. I have four little ones, and my second child is the worst. He likes to pee where he shouldn't and he thinks that he is "God's Gift to Females". This cat plays sweet and innocent and then the next thing you know, your "Wallflowers" CD has just been canned because his urine is all over it. I guess my cat hates that group. He also likes to get into things that he should not get into, and he is trying to train my youngest how to be just like him. This cat has a "God complex". Oh, he has also brought home a grand total combination of 12 birds, rabbits, mice, rats, and possums. This cat is just bad.

Oh my, that is a lot of hunting for one cat lol. A cat of mine once brought a rabbit in through my bedroom window. No idea if he killed it but I take it he must've done if your "bad cat" kills them. I'm just amazed my cat managed to drag it from the cemetery and through my window as he would've had to climb up onto the extension roof. All that to show me his kill. I wasn't as impressed as he though I would be!

She just wanted to help with the planting by adding her own special fertilizer.

Yes, I believe cats can be naughty and know that they are being naughty! We had a manx cat that used to love chicken. On many occasions he would sneak under the dining table, wait for his chance to leap up and steal a piece of chicken right off our fork! He would then run as fast as he could and hide somewhere to eat the chicken. If we could see him in his hiding place and approach him, he would growl like a dog to warn us away or he would leap out and bite us or scratch us with his claws. He would stay out of our way then for hours afterwards. That could only be becaus he knew he had been naughty. Little did he know though that we found the whole thing very amusing! _Derek

I'm thinking, just cover it up and it will probably be good fertilizer. But maybe not. Then she'll probably keep going back there...

Argh! I love my cat but I hate how they just leave a dropping anywhere.
We put in our new greenhouse last year and I surrounded it with a little ditch and filled the ditch with bark clippings to keep weeds and water away from the inside.
Well of course our cat and all the neighbourhood cats love it, they fill it anew every day.
I have to watch how I tread now.
I'm going to think about putting something a bit less accommodating there when the weather allows.

There are foxes in Mum's area too as there is a cemetery at the back of the street (runs parallel to it) and her neighbour has seen a fox leap right up and over the wall that seperates the gardens with the cemetery..it's about 7ft high!

Well it is several moggies I think but mine is the only one I have actually seen doing it.
We have a fox that lives at the bottom of the garden too and she is equally unpleasant when it comes to leaving droppings but mostly they are in my vegetable plot.

So funny ;D
I don't wanna be disrespecting, but that made me laugh in a good way. It made me smile after having been as a slave at school...
Thank you for sharing that story :D
