I have a female cat that has gained a bit of interest from a male cat and he was chasing her earlier so i let her in and the other cat ran off.The next thing that happened was she was putting her head out of the cat flap a meowing pittifully for this male cat,the next thing i see is her with him again. It is a shame that the other cat as in the male cat is not tame enough to get close to as she is really in love as all she do is keep calling it.

I agree with you savypat...there are so many unwanted pets in shelters when people allow their pets to breed and many pets in high kill shelters are put down due to lack of space

I must have missed your other posting- your in-love kitty is not spade?? I hope she will be asap if not. But either way, poor thing. And I hope the other cat is spade too. If he is homeless and/or stray, it may take him a while to be in the presence of any other creature for safety. But how sweet. If the cat does not become friends witih your cat, make sure to give her lots of attention so she does not get depressed.

Oh I guess your cat is in heat that is why she is flirting with any cat she sees in her neighborhood. I think for animals they do not really look for the looks or appearance of the cat for as long as he can do it with him then she would entice him to breed unless there are other male cats around then she could choose who she will allow to mate with her.

It sounds like she is in heat. I had a cat that before I got her fixed, went into heat and she made a horrible noise. I tried to keep her in but she finally got out a window. Needless to say she had a litter of kittens. I got her fixed right after she had them!
I had a male cat that was fixed, and when the female went into heat, he tried to mate with her but he had no idea what he was doing. He mounted her sideways and tried everything he could but she just kept making noises.

Your cat is in love. . I'm sure she'll get over it once she gets pregnant. just give them time together. Although i can say that cats in the mating season can be so annoying since the tend to be so loud and keep chasing each other. What more irritating is they do the chasing on the roof at night.

I do hope your cat has been spayed, otherwise you could well end up with a litter of kittens. If you want to avoid unwanted kittens, try and keep your cat indoors for now, and get her to a vet to have her fixed.

As others have said here, unless you want a litter of kittens you better get your female cat fixed as it does sound like she's in heat--that would be the only reason the male is taking an interest in your female cat as he can sense she's ready for mating

Sounds like she is in heat. They act pretty pathetic and embarrassing when they are in the throws of being in heat. Ugh! They make weird noises, are totally submissive and have not clue what is going on. Love?

That sounds kinda cute but he might be looking for a mate...is she fixed? If she is then he might not be all that friendly and may attack. My girl Cleo got out by accident and was attacked by a feral male. I have no idea what happened exactly but she was only outside for about 20 minutes before I noticed that she had slipped out. As I came around to the backyard, I heard her screaming for help. He had her backed up to the fence and was swiping at her with both paws.
She was fixed and the male was quite vicious to her, we sprayed the garden hose on him to get him to leave the yard. She got a couple of swipes in as his nose was bleeding. Poor little one, her ear had been clawed and when we took her to the vet, he said it's not uncommon for the males to do that to a fixed cat. Guess he wasn't getting what he was after and he got mad!
Does your cat have an indoor friend? We got a kitten soon after the Cleo attack incident. I felt like she needed an indoor friend for when we are gone at work all day and she was alone. Cleo never tries to go outside now. I think she's decided that it's a scary world out there!
If she's not fixed then you might want to think about getting her done so you don't have kittens to think about. Take care

Leave the two alone jugs! That is their game of love. The fact that he is seen around is a definite sign that they will get together. Both are playing the 'hard to get' kind of game which is normal with cats

cats can be interesting creatures in that way. You never know what's on their minds or what they are capable of. I guess she must be lonely.

If you want that behavior to stop you need to get your cat sprayed.......Then she won't want to call the male....
We have a male and female cat and we had the male nutered......After a few months of her crying for a male we had her sprayed.....Now neither one of them want to be bothered.....

I hope one of them has been "fixed"!
My brother had a cat named Coco, a Siamese, and when loved called to her she made the most God-awful wailing I've ever heard in my life. It was a relief when they decided to quit having a litter per year (to supplement their income) and get her spayed.

Hey Maam,
Why don't you get her married the Mr. Tom-cat so that we all can have a feast.
