Where do you go to see movies?

Most people I know go to chain-theaters, namely Edwards/Regal, but there are alos a couple locally owned movie theaters out there.
I have one in my town, that's quite historic. They have only one screen, so they play one movie at a time, and sometimes they're interesting indie films. Plus, the theater itself is very intricately decorated. It's a really fun place to go see a movie, but since the economy took a downfall, they've been going on movie-less breaks from time to time. Most people have turned to the local Edward's instead.
Do you have a local/historic theater in your area? Or maybe a different theater that shows a lot of indie films?

Hi olisaur, Watching movies in the theater is better than watching it in your television or PC, Even if your television is 50 inches wide, its still better in theater. I'm from philippines the theater here only show new movies and change it to new ones after 2 to 3 months.

My local Cinema is an Odeon and is near a McDonalds drive thru and a Hollywood Bowl. There are eight screens at the Cinema. It's a really good cinema and is much better than the Previous one in my town which was near the centre of Town and was rather small compared to the Odeon.

There aren't any small independant theatres in my area and if there are any I don't know about them but I wish I did. I usually end up going to chain-theatres because thats basically all there is. I don't go often and I prefer waiting until movies come out on DVD.
