philippine election is coming very soon and it has been the work of many politicians to buy votes in order to win.
what if one of the politician will buy your vote and order to vote for him during the election. will you accept the money and vote for him or just accept the money and vote your chosen candidate?
what is you stand about this?

Vote buying is an incurable disease in Philippine politics, but I am wondering why the COMELEC tolerated this unthinkable practice, why nobody is punished with this misconduct?all politicians tolerated it that's why it became a bad habit.
Take for example, the politics in our place in one of the poorest provinces in the country. The election results largely based on how well off the candidates are, those who want to serve the public office sincerely but no money, never win.
I detested this habit and I would never vote a candidate who gave money. I don't want to sell my right to anyone, I don't want to lose my dignity. Vote buying should be stop by giving sample to candidate: "arrest a candidate who will found guilty of vote buying". But considering the dirty tactics being practice in the Philippine political system, my suggestion is as good as saying: "Let's migrate to Mars"..hahay

even if the law enforcers knows about it because it's very obvious but they cannot arrest them since they have the political power which will rule over the law. so in that case it is useless to implement it therefore it is the people to decide who deserve to be in the position. no matter how big the money given to them they should stick to whom they believe is right for the position.

Voting should be secret and buying votes is illegal. Anyone in this country who tried to buy votes would certainly be removed from the list of candidates and prosecuted. I will take any fool's money if they want to give it to me but I always vote for the candidate I think best able to represent me, anyway, and nobody has a right to know who I voted for.
I thought that the Philippines was a civilised country (though I heard of the murders committed not long ago on one politician's family) and I would expect and hope that the voting system was relatively free from corruption.
Of course, 'buying votes' does happen in every election but it's done with fine words and false promises, not with money.

it's really happening in the philippines and very rampants during election period. politicians really spent millions of money for the campaign, so whatdo you expect for that candidate? of course when they will win the election they will really get back what they spent from the government's money.
and that's the reality, that is why our country did not move on and still belongs to the poorest country in the world.

I will accept the money but I won't vote for him... If I find that individual to be undeserving then I won't waste my vote for him/her. I just want to be practical... Politicians have stole a lot of money from us so we should be wise enough to dealing with them.

To all the people who accept money in exchange of their vote, they are just wasting their chance to vote for a better candidate to rule our country.

Haha. You've got a point there. But look on the other side, why would you vote a person whom YOU KNOW will steal from you? It's like you want to be friends with a person whom YOU KNOW hits all his friends with a stone. Are you like that? Do you really want to exchange your P500 or so to six more years of more poverty and no jobs for you and your family? You can earn 500 in a month! Imagine what the corrupt official can get off from the country in a month. Thousands? Hundreds of thousands?
It isn't really a waste of vote to vote for someone who didn't pay you to vote for him. It's a gamble, a 50-50 chance that a candidate will be corrupt or not. Now if you already know who is corrupt, then you can lower your chances of choosing a corrupt person because you can eliminate him from your choice of candidates.
Why not just take the money and vote for another person?
