I just bought a cell phone. At the beginning, I kept it open and did not turn off it every night. But sometimes, there were some anonymous phone calls in the evening. Those calls usually rang for about one or two times and will wake me up. I was so upset about this so I turn off my cell phone at night after that. In addition, doing so will help me to avoid those radiation from the cell phone. Do you turn off your cell phone at night?

No, I do not turn my phone off at night as I have it next to my bed in case there is an emergency as my mother is ill.

No, I don't because I have no land line at home, and my phones are the only way the people I love can stay in touch with me. Usually, I get no calls late at night, but it does happen occasionally. (I'm a night person, so this doesn't bother me alot.) For any one particular number, my phone's call-block works great.
Cell phone radiation? Really?
Most sources can't prove a causal relationship between cell phone radiation & cancer except to say that it may increase your risk over a long (10 year) period.
FYI: In the US, the Federal Trade Commission offers a service to eliminate unwanted solicitation calls to your personal phones by registering your number(s) at the the following site:
https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx
I recommend this to everyone.

Before I went to college, I turned off the cellphone every night because the same reasons you mentioned, anonymous calls and radiation. Bur since I went to college, I have never did that again. My cellphone was always available because my friends usually sent me messages at night and I don't want to miss them. As now, I am studying in a different country which far far away form my homeland, I have to keep my phone online because there is 13 hours time differences between my place and my home country, and I always communicate with my family and my friends at night.

Yeah, I see. As a matter of fact, when I just bought cellphone, someone told me that it is not good for your health if you sleep with your cellphone turn on, so I always turned off my cellphone at night. But later, I read an article from somewhere saying that it is no harm by turning on your cellphone, just do not put it too close to you. So I never turn off my cellphone at night later.

The radiation of the cellphone is very low actually, just put it 1 meter away is enough. However, some people like to put their cellphone right in front of their heart, especially male. Because there is a pocket in their shirt. That is a very bad habit that may cause serious problem. However, seldom people recognize it.

My cellphone will be turned off automatically at 11pm. I don't want the trash calls or SMS to bother me at night. It is quite bothering. This is why my cellphone will be turned off at night.

I don't turn off my cell phone at night because I might get some emergency texts or calls. And if I don't want radiation from my cell phone, I just have to place it far from me.

I leave my cell phone on all the time because I never know when someone may be trying to get a hold of me for an emergency or something. However, at night I will leave it on vibrate because I don't want it to wake me up. In the morning, my phone alarm will vibrate to wake me up. I'm not sure why people can call me in the middle of the night (my phone will vibrate), and I won't even hear it, but yet, in the morning I will hear my cell phone alarm vibrate and wake me up! I'm just glad it works well.

to receive a call from my friend, I switch to another number and to family or an important number I did not switch it, so I leave my cellphone on and are not bothered by ringing in the night.

No, I don't turn off my cell phone at night. However, I will also say that I don't always take it to bed with me. I do take my phone to bed with me whenever it is a school night for my daughter because I use the phone as an alarm clock. However, on the nights when Kathryn doesn't have school the following morning, I don't take the phone to bed with me. I really don't want random people waking me up in the middle of the night.

I am not turn of my cell phone at night, in chase there is something urgent happen to one member of my family and close friend. All my friend know if I was really bad mood if wakeup in the middle of the night for something that not really important I am not a night owl. So I think you need to tell your friend what time they can call you.

If i remember i usualy turn of my cell phone in my home at night, because hepls to save the batery a bit and saves from electromagnetic radiation. Is better to prevent than to remedy.
Of course, if i have on trip i don't turn off because some friend or relative can call me.
I thinks depends of the situation

I do not turn my cell phone off at night. I use my cell phone for an alarm clock, so I have to keep it turned on. I usually don't get a lot of calls late in the evenings, so it is usually not a problem to leave it on.

Yes, I do turn it off at night, as I don't need to have it on, as I don't get calls then anyway, and by shutting it off, saves the battery life, as sit drains pretty quick when I leave it on. I was charging it up everyday, but now that I turn it off for most of the day, and night, I conserve the battery a litle longer that way, and it only staqnds to reason that it will last longer when I don't charge it up so much. I do take it with me when I go out though, and hope I don't get calls as I don't have bluetooth set up on it, as here in Oregon, we can't talk on the cell phone unless it is hands dree. At least I can't get calss when it is off. Take care, and have a very good day.
