Do you have to commit mistake in order to become a more mature person or do you learn from what you have observed from the people around you.

It goes either way I believe, we learn from our mistakes so when we are put on same situation again then we already know how to handle it. We can also learn from others mistake when we are a witnessed to that situation and from that we can also learn.

Things can be learnt from many sources. We can learn from our mistakes which is practical experience, we can learn from others' mistakes, which is learnt by seeing or from hearing from them, we can learn by reading and by watching movies too. Some people learn by single experience and others will learn by burning their fingers every time. It is good, as long as we learn it at the end at least.

When I have done some mistake, I try to learn from it. But rather I learn from the same mistake only when I have done it more then three times. To learn from other mistakes seems more difficult, because we can see them mistakes and can to show them, but when we came to the same situation in which they are, we realizes that we do the same mistakes they have done.

I believe most people learn more from their own mistakes rather than from what others tell you. When I was a teen, I never listened to what other people told me not to do as far as little things. Unfortunately it took me doing the same thing myself for me to learn from it...
I guess it depends on how mature you are and what you have already been through I think...
