I really dislike how most shows portray marriage. The wife and husband are annoyed with eachother all the time and are always fighting. No one really gets a long and invariably someone has, will or is contemplating cheating. No wonder no one wants to get married if that is what you see on tv.

I am going to go under the assumption here that you are not married, and I am going to tell you that after the honeymoon is over, that is EXACTLY what marriage is like LOL. Watching too many romance movies will give a woman an idea of what marriage is supposed to be like. However, watching a few episodes of MARRIED WITH CHILDREN will bring a woman back to reality and show her what marriage is really like LOL

I actually am married with two children, we will enjoy our eighth anniversary in September. We have our differences and of course get annoyed with one another at times, but certainly not how things are portrayed and how some people talk about their marriage! Married with children - I really don't like that show either, it does have its funny points but that is not what marriage should be like. I don't want my daughter not wanting to get married because she has watched too much of stuff like that! Nor do I want her to think EVERYTHING is lovely dovey like in too many romance movies, but what is wrong with a little romance?

There is nothing at all wrong with a little romance. Some of us, myself included, are blessed with pretty good marriages. Others are not so lucky though...

mmm..are you sure? I think marriage life is not that scary. I'm married for almost four years. ya, we've ever been in a worst period of our marriage life, but we were able to face that. It's impossible for every couple won't have problems during their relation. but they need to stick together to face those so they could continue their marriage. the problems are also like a test, if they could solve it, they could be stronger than before in facing next problem. I'm married and I'm happy.

I am married and I am happy too. I have several friends that ask me what I "do" to make my marriage different from what they see and hear about. I personally think a lot of those shows throw the bad parts of marriage totally out of proportion.
thanks for responding, congrats on 4 years, we are going on 8 in sept and have two kids, do you have or want any kids yet?
